Every year since 2010, Steam has had a big Summer sale. While the biggest PC storefront and games library has a plethora of different sales throughout the year, none is quite as revered as the Steam Summer Sale, often boasting some of the biggest reductions on some of the most recent AAA titles, along with some of the best Indie games in recent memory. If there's been a game someone's holding off from buying, the odds are the Steam Summer Sale will finally push them over that edge.

This year is no different. Having officially started on June 23, this year's Steam Summer Sale will be running up until July 7, giving gamers just two weeks to choose from literally thousands of games currently on sale. But looking at Steam can be a pretty daunting task nowadays, with hundreds of new titles published there every single day. As such, gamers need to sift through all the dirt to find the gems, searching carefully for the best deals in the Steam Summer Sale.

The Best Deals in the 2022 Steam Summer Sale

God Of War 2018

As long-time Steam users have come to expect, this year's Steam Summer Sale offers plenty of reductions on some of the most critically-acclaimed AAA games of the past few years. Monster Hunter Rise is one such title. Originally released on the Nintendo Switch, Monster Hunter Rise may not be quite as big and bold as Monster Hunter World, but it does offer one of the most accessible, streamlined Monster Hunter experiences of all time. Right now, the Steam Summer Sale has it listed for $30.59, a great 49% saving.

Techland's zombie-slashing, parkour sequel Dying Light 2 is also currently on sale, now being listed at $39.99, a 33% drop from its standard retail price. For a game that released just a few months ago, this reduction is pretty impressive, especially when that game is Dying Light 2, which offers an extensive amount of content.

At the start of the year, Sony released its universally-acclaimed God of War onto PC, bringing the stellar narrative-focused game to a brand-new audience. Rather than just be a simple port, Sony put in the effort, and included a range of features exclusive to PC, such as DLSS and widescreen support. God of War is currently $39.99 on the Steam Summer Sale, which is only a 20% discount, but does make this already great game all the more worthwhile.

Another AAA game worth picking up, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is one of the most recent games to release on this list, and the Steam Summer Sale currently has it listed for $47.99. Though it's just a 20% discount, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands did only come out at the end of March, so any discount is a welcome one. For fans of Borderlands, this spin-off is certainly worth checking out, especially if they've got buddies to jump into co-op with.

On the Indie side, Tunic is on sale for $26.99. It may only be a slight 10% price drop, but Tunic's fresh take on the Zelda dungeon crawler formula is more than worth the price of entry. A beautiful and vibrant art style, some surprisingly complex combat mechanics, and intriguing puzzles make Tunic stand out from the crowd.

In a similar vein, Death's Door is currently 50% off, listed for just $9.99. Much like Tunic, Death's Door takes a lot of influence from classic Zelda titles, but also has a definite Dark Souls-inspired feel and look about it, mixing charming character design with a bleak and gloomy atmosphere and environment. Death's Door even managed to bag the award for Best Indie at the 2021 Game Awards.

Of course, Steam also offers countless deals on older classics, such as Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, which is down to just $4.79, and Titanfall 2 for just $4.79 as well. If gamers are looking for a cheap and cheerful hit of nostalgia, then there are plenty of much older games on sale as well, including the vast majority of Star Wars titles, Deus Ex, and the Half-Life series, including what's widely considered to be the best VR game around, Half-Life Alyx, which is 50% off.

The Steam Summer Sale runs from June 23 until July 7 at 10 AM Pacific.
