Must eat brains! Ahem, excuse me. On August 10th 2010, Valve and PopCap Games announced a Game of the Year (GOTY) Edition of PopCap's hit title: Plants vs Zombies.

Plants vs Zombies is a strategy game with one task in mind: plant an arsenal of, well, plants and destroy zombies. Zombies are attacking your home and the only weapon you have are various plants who are very committed to your cause as they owe their life to you. The strategy is to plant sunflowers in order to get solar power, which is the currency that, in turn, is used to construct additional plants. The variety of plants perform different actions, such as: shooting, slowing and blocking as to aid in the fighting against the hordes of zombies.

Plants vs Zombies was created by PopCap Games, who gave the world Bejeweled and Peggle. Both have sold over 50 million copies across multiple platforms and are so popular that they have been added to the long list of World of Warcraft add-ons; to play while waiting for a raid. PopCap games are available on mobile devices, can be played in Web browsers and on popular gaming consoles. PopCap has been one of the most innovative companies in the video game industry since its founding in 2000. Creating new game mechanics, sales models, and platforms capabilities. PopCap is the only video game provider in the world with a leading market share across the entire spectrum.

The GOTY edition presents new features and extra zombie madness. In a recent announcement from Steam:

"'[Plant vs Zombies] adds support for Steam Cloud, which allows players to store and access game data from any computer, and introduces the Zombatar, enabling players to incorporate their own custom zombie creations directly into the game. These features are also being added, free of charge, to PC versions already purchased via Steam."

Originally released on May 5th, 2009, Plants vs Zombies is still an instant classic and adored by the players. Killing zombies can be considered a way of life once you find out that you have played for five hours, or more, straight.

For only $9.99, bought directly from steam, Plants vs Zombies is more than worth it for the price. Hysterical and fun for any gamer, Plants vs Zombies is one of the best games ever produced. Oh, and if you're already purchase the game through Steam, you can upgrade for free!

For more information and purchase options, check out the Steam's Store. Or you can wait for the XBLA release on September 10. The music video is a pure comedy that can be viewed after the trailer at said Store. Now back to eating those cholesterol soaked brains. Mmmm.
