If there's one thing that gamers can be sure of, it is that another Steam sale is usually right around the corner, and this is once again the case despite the previous Steam Winter Sale only ending a couple of weeks ago.

Steam sales are where many PC gamers look to grab some incredible deals to fill out their game collections, whether it is grabbing the latest releases at a nice discount or a nostalgic classic for up to 90% off, there is usually something for everyone when Valve discounts thousands of games on their store.

According to leaked dates posted on SteamDB, the next Steam sale will be the Steam Lunar New Year Sale and will run from January 27 to February 3, 2022. The sale is starting only 22 days after the end of the previous Steam Winter Sale, which may have played a part in Steam recently breaking its concurrent player record earlier this month. With the sale running very close to the previous one, it is likely that the majority of the discounts will be the same as what was on offer during the Winter Sale.

It is worth noting that this will be the last sale to be held before the release of Valve's Steam Deck, a new handheld device that will begin shipping in February 2022. The handheld device was due to ship in December, but it was delayed by two months, although most pre-orders won't be fulfilled until later in 2022 and going into 2023.

With the Steam Deck right around the corner, now is a great opportunity to grab some new games to play on the device. Players will be able to tell which games will run best on the Steam Deck as Valve is ramping up its Steam Deck Verified Program, which indicates the titles that perform best on the device right from the Steam store page.

There will be another opportunity to grab some titles in the near future if the Steam Lunar New Year Sale isn't an ideal time, as Next Fest is due to be held on Steam between February 21 to 28, 2022, which will be a celebration of upcoming games. The Next Fest event is already confirmed and will allow players to check out hundreds of demos of upcoming games, as well as watch developer live streams to find out new information about the games ahead of their official launches. This event will be more focused on upcoming releases, but there should still be some discounts available during this time.
