Steam has revealed a list of the biggest games of 2022 in terms of various metrics such as gross revenue and peak concurrent players. Steam is one of the most popular storefronts in the industry, and it seems to be regularly breaking its own record for the highest number of concurrent users.
Many games released in 2022 received high review scores, with some of them launching to critical acclaim. Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok are the two highest-rated new releases of 2022, and both games have either won or been nominated for various Game of the Year awards. Fans can go to a specific page titled Best of 2022 from the Steam store where the games are divided into various categories like top sellers and most played. Each category is also divided into up to four rankings titled platinum, gold, silver, and bronze. The first segment features the best-selling games on Steam in 2022 measured by gross revenue, and fans can find titles like Elden Ring, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Dying Light 2 Stay Human, and Monster Hunter Rise in the platinum section. It should be noted that this portion is not limited to a particular year, so games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Civilization 6 are also present in this list.
2022 gets its own section with games divided into platinum, gold, and silver categories. The usual suspects occupy the top spots, with the recently released Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion also making an appearance in the silver tier.
