When it comes to subscription gaming services, it's hard to find one that competes with Xbox Game Pass. The massive library and the regularity of updates make it one of the best value deals in gaming right now, with everything from old-school classics like Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Fallout 3 to day one launch hits like Grounded and Scorn. That hopefully means that the service has something to offer fans of every genre, including stealth.

Stealth games are an incredibly broad genre, containing some of the most popular games available. Experiences can range from games where stealth is more or less necessitated, to games where it's one of many options, allowing players to tackle objectives head-on if that plan falls through. On top of that, their settings and themes are even more varied than their gameplay mechanics. Thankfully, the offering of stealth games available in the Xbox Game Pass library reflects that variety.

A Plague Tale: Requiem

A Plague Tale: Requiem is a sequel to 2019's A Plague Tale: Innocence and is a pretty hardcore stealth experience with full-on confrontations often guaranteeing a death. It can seem punishing at times, but the game is exactly what a lot of stealth fans are looking for. While the game has great mechanics, the story and world are even more spectacular. It tells a sometimes harrowing tale about the time period with great personal stories mixed in as well. The tension of the stealth with the somber setting also makes it at times surprisingly scary. With Halloween right around the corner, A Plague Tale: Requiem might be the best game to check out for stealth fans right now on Xbox Game Pass, especially for those not wanting an all-out horror experience.

Dishonored

Dishonored

Dishonored: Definitive Edition is a remaster of the original game, which is arguably the best in the series. It's a classic scenario where both stealth and all-out assault are options, but stealth is far more satisfying. Not only do the tools and ability make that the case, but Dishonored's Chaos System also makes that path more rewarding in the story. The game features the classic gameplay loop of immersive sims, rewarding the player for taking their time, planning out approaches from afar, and even reloading saves or revisiting levels to give them a better go. Dishonored 2 and Death of the Outsider are also available on Xbox Game Pass.

Aragami 2

For all the indie gaming fans, Xbox Game Pass has Aragami 2. The game should appeal to stealth purists with its stripped-back mechanics reminiscent of classic entries into the genre like the older games of Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell. Aragami 2 focuses its stealth gameplay around slick traversal abilities and enemy sight lines. Additionally, its presentation is as impressive as its gameplay; the beautifully simplistic and vibrant art style perfectly accentuates the mythical feudal Japan setting as well as the straightforward, yet satisfying stealth mechanics. There's also the option of co-op for those who prefer to sneak around with their friends.

Hitman Trilogy

When it comes to games with great replay value, not many stealth games come close to Hitman. Hitman Trilogy on Xbox Game Pass contains the three games in IO Interactive's World of Assassination series, some of the best entries in the franchise. The games take Agent 47 to countless incredible locations across the world, all with stunning detail and a level of freedom that few games offer. It creates an addictive loop of revisiting levels countless times, trying to beat scores, complete challenges, and experiment with just about any way to complete missions, from the wincingly gruesome to the downright comical.
