Just last week, Microsoft Studios and Undead Labs decided to give State of Decay 2 fans a better idea of the four-player team elements involved in the forthcoming survival title by releasing a little more than 25 minutes of co-op gameplay. Now, the companies are turning their attention toward single players, as a fresh video has been put out today that provides a look at more than 20 minutes of solo mission elements within the game.

As seen below in the video courtesy of IGN, State of Decay 2 fans can get an idea of what it will be like to go it alone in the survival title, as it offers looks at a few side quests, some basic survivor information, and, of course, some brutal solitary encounters with zombies. According to IGN, the clip shown below is single-player footage that takes place somewhere around mid-game, and with it mostly dealing with side quests, fans shouldn't have to worry about any story spoilers cropping up.

If the solo aspects shown in this most recent State of Decay 2 video are indicative of the rest of the game, then it appears as if combat will be a little bit more difficult without having buddies team up together in four-player co-op, as taking on hordes of the undead by one's lonesome will involve more strategic approaches. For instance, about midway through the above footage, the player gets overrun and killed by a slew of zombies while trying to fight them off with just a shotgun and a machete.

All things considered, State of Decay 2 appears to be shaping up as a solid experience for both single-player and co-op enthusiasts, as the title seems set to offer a variety of different survival and combat scenarios catering to both types of gamers. And with Undead Labs having assured fans that there won't be microtransactions at launch, should such in-game purchases with real world currency remain excluded from State of Decay 2, many will likely flock to the title in droves.

State of Decay 2 is scheduled to release on May 22, 2018, for Xbox One and Windows PC.
