There's no doubt that Microsoft Studios and Undead Labs' forthcoming survival title State of Decay 2 is easily one of the most exciting Xbox One exclusive games coming in 2018, but until recently, fans hadn't a clue as to when it would become available. Now, thankfully, the companies have confirmed that it is set to release on May 22, 2018 for the Xbox One family of consoles as well as Windows PC as a Play Anywhere title.

In addition to the reveal of State of Decay 2's release date, fans have also been given a taste of the action to come in the survival title with a fresh gameplay teaser courtesy of IGN France, which can be seen below. What's more is that Microsoft Studios and Undead Labs have announced the decision to provide a full gameplay reveal tomorrow on March 7, 2018 at 9:00 AM PT in order to show how far development has come.

While the news of State of Decay 2's release date will surely thrill fans of the series who have been waiting for a launch time ever since its reveal at E3 2016, its price point will likely make them even more excited. Interestingly enough, Microsoft has confirmed that State of Decay 2 will cost $30 for the standard edition of the game and $50 for the Ultimate Edition. The latter version is set to provide early access on May 18, as well as a free Xbox One copy of State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition and the Independence Pack and Daybreak Pack DLCs, which will be released at a date to be determined.

Furthermore, it has been confirmed that when State of Decay 2 launches, it will also be available by way of Xbox Game Pass, with the exclusive surely set to assist Microsoft with further promotion of the subscription service. Taking all of this into consideration, it looks as if Microsoft Studios and Undead Labs are about to begin pushing State of Decay 2 in a major way ahead of its launch later this year.
