State of Decay 2 got a new gameplay trailer at the Xbox E3 2017 press conference, showing off more of the zombie action that fans of the original will be familiar with. That is, State of Decay 2 looks to give players another open world to gather a community, find a home base, and build it up to protect themselves from the zombies that are lurking in the world.

There's plenty of gory zombie action to glimpse in the gameplay reveal trailer, including different types of zombie types. Even a giant behemoth that closes out the look at the gameplay, which can rip players limb from limb. Players will definitely want to steer clear of those.

State of Decay 2 will add multiplayer for the first time to the franchise, allowing players to play solo or with up to four friends. The official description of the game sets up where and when players will be taking on the zombie apocalypse in this multiplayer survival action game:

18 months after the zombie apocalypse, the military abandons a refugee camp in small-town America. Those left behind must band together to survive the fall of civilization and the rise of the undead. In State of Decay 2, it’s up to you to gather survivors, build a community, and redefine what it means to survive.

State of Decay 2 News Coming at E3 2017 - State of Decay 2 zombies

State of Decay 2 is being developed by Undead Labs who developed the first game, which was a bit of a sleeper hit on Xbox 360. The franchise is known for its open-world featuring zombies, recruiting and leveling up survivors, collecting supplies for survival, and the constant threat of permadeath for any of the community that players build up.

State of Decay 2 looks to be upping the ante in all those areas that fans of the original game are sure to love.

State of Decay 2 will be an Xbox One and Windows 10 exclusive when it launches Spring 2018.
