Stargirl star Brec Bassinger seems to be teasing an upcoming crossover between her show and fellow DC series Titans. Both have established their own identities well enough so far, but being part of the DC television universe, it seems as though it was only a matter of time before they eventually cross paths.

Bassinger made a coy post featuring a picture of her (in her full Stargirl costume, no less) with Ryan Potter, who plays Beast Boy on HBO Max's Titans. Though this doesn't confirm anything outright, it offers a pretty clear tease. While nothing has been officially announced regarding a crossover, it seems rather obvious what her post is referring to. Aside from Potter, the post also features Stargirl creator Geoff Johns and director Eric Dean Seaton, the latter of whom has already directed episodes for a number of "Arrowverse" shows in the past.

"Omg, so crazy running into my friends in Toronto. Crazy coincidence [sic]. cRaZy. #dcstargirl Xo," Bassinger said in the caption on Instagram. One big takeaway here is that, since Stargirl usually films in the U.S., it's likely that the production is in Toronto (Titans shoots in Canada) for a reason. Whether that reason is the crossover itself or it just happens to be a happy byproduct of something else, Bassinger's sarcastic caption alone is probably enough to get fans of both shows excited.

Stargirl stars Bassinger as Courtney Whitmore (the titular hero) who works to create a new generation of the long-gone Justice Society of America. Bringing together new friends and, more recently, old enemies into the fold, the fledgling team serves as protectors for the small town of Blue Valley. Meanwhile, Titans adopts a decidedly darker tone, taking the classic Teen Titans team down a much grittier path. It would certainly be interesting to see how these tonally-different series interact with each other. To be fair, with Stargirl currently tackling a murder mystery in its 3rd season, maybe it won't be that big of a jump.

Both shows have done crossovers in the past to an extent. Stargirl debuted in The CW's massive "Crisis on Infinite Earths" event, serving as the character's introduction before her own show's premiere. On the other hand, while characters from Titans also appeared in the same event, it was through archive footage rather than anything new shot specifically for it. However, Titans did feature the cast of the surprisingly excellent Doom Patrol before its official launch.

Whatever this potential crossover ends up being, it's likely that there will be some hijinks afoot. The gritty Titans team interacting with the much more upbeat vibe of Stargirl is certainly a theme well-explored at this point. So here's hoping things end up as entertaining as the audience's imagination is surely predicting right now.

Stargirl drops new episodes Wednesdays on The CW, while Titans is expected to premiere its 4th season in November on HBO Max.
