Starfield will probably release after Arkane Studios' Redfall, according to a spokesperson for Microsoft, though there's still no concrete launch date yet. Bethesda's upcoming space epic is considered one of the most anticipated games of this generation, with the studio deviating from the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series that it's become known for. There's so much hype for the release, and while many might be tempted to think of it as "Skyrim in space," it's said to be something much more than that.

Fans have been treated to a bunch of drip-fed details about Starfield like its dialogue system via gameplay trailers. The action RPG will take place 20 years after the Colony War of 2310 in which two factions, United Colonies and Freestar Collective, had been battling it out with each other. Conversely, Redfall, which is being published by Bethesda, will be a first-person shooter in which players will fight against hordes of vampires. The game is being developed by the same team that brought the world Deathloop and the Dishonored series.

However, no one really knows when either of these titles will be out, but according to a recent interview with Xbox Game Studios' Matt Booty, Starfield will likely be coming out after Redfall. During the latter parts of Booty's segment, he discussed some of the games that he's been looking forward to, as well as what's coming up. Mentioning Redfall, he then goes on to say that as the team starts to "look down the road on the calendar," Starfield will be coming afterwards. Unfortunately, he was unwilling to give any indication of when it would actually be releasing. Currently, both games are expected sometime in the first half of 2023. Viewers can find this information in the video at around the 1:27:00 mark.

Sadly, Bethesda had to delay Starfield and Redfall, with a statement that the company wanted to hold off on the releases in order to make them the "most polished" experiences for fans. The sci-fi RPG was originally scheduled to launch this year, so many fans were disappointed to see that the date had been pushed back. Hopefully, the studio will soon give more details soon about when people can expect it to arrive.

Along with Starfield, Bethesda announced Fallout 5 not long ago and is also developing the next installment in the long-running Elder Scrolls series. Evidently, the Maryland-based company is keeping busy with a number of ambitious projects. No doubt many are looking forward to these upcoming titles, but suffice it to say that fans can do nothing but twiddle their thumbs until Todd Howard and his team release further details.

Starfield and Redfall are scheduled to release for PC and Xbox Series X/S in 2023.
