Starfield is one of the most hotly anticipated games of the year, and since it's coming from the creators of fan-favorite titles such as Oblivion, Skyrim, and Fallout 3, the expectations are higher than they otherwise would have been. It's not particularly strange, then, that the game is being leaked left and right as of late.

In fact, this latest Starfield leak comes just a few short days after the last one, and follows a similar format. The person responsible for the leak claims that the featured screenshots are from an even earlier build this time around, citing an early 2017 build of the game as the original source, which means that the assets shown may well be severely outdated by now.

Comparing the new screenshots with the previous Starfield leak from the 2018 build, there are very few differences between the two leaks in their format and in the manner in which assets are displayed, all things considered. The heads-up display is practically the same, with the same third-person field-of-view. What's curious this time, however, is that the third-person screenshot looks like it could've been taken during a base-building showcase, as the character is checking out a few different doorframes in a manner similar to what one might see while playing Fallout 4.

According to Uni Sensei, these screenshots were taken from an early 2017 build of Starfield, and they don't seem to have been part of the two previous major Starfield leaks, both of which were sourced from a purported 2018 build. The very first leak of Starfield's 2018 build featured the same golden hull array as is shown in other leaks, but viewed from very different angles.

Though Bethesda's developers have discussed Starfield's lore, universe, and more already, there has been virtually no gameplay shown off just yet, which is why the community seems to be eager to give attention to just about any new leak that comes up. While Uni Sensei's screenshots do seem to be new, and could possibly demonstrate certain elements and assets from the game's base-building mode, it's still worth taking them with a pinch of salt.

As the game is supposed to be out before the end of the year, Bethesda is very slowly and very deliberately ramping up the hype engines. The last major official showcase featured one of Starfield's companion characters, the VASCO bot. While such a granular, careful approach to hype may look suspicious to some, fact is that Bethesda handles all of its flagship releases in a similar way, and everything seems to be on track — for the time being.

Starfield launches November 11 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
