With a life simulation game like Stardew Valley, there are many adventures that players can go on that will lead them to finding goodies that could reap benefits in the future. Even an item that isn't quite valuable may find some sort of purpose, even if it just means selling it off for some gold in Stardew Valley.

An item that doesn't have a lot of value in the game is a Thunder Egg. According to the Stardew Valley's description, the mineral was used as a weapon as thunder spirits would throw them at each other. Players will not have to deal with thunder spirits in this game, so there are other uses for the object.

How To Obtain A Thunder Egg

Mining in Stardew Valley

Thunder Eggs can be found in either Geodes or Omni Geodes. There is about a 1/32 shot that it can be found in a Geode mineral deposit, while it is much rarer to find in Omni Geodes since there are many other things that this version can produce. To find out their contents, the blacksmith can break them open for the player or players can obtain a Geode Crusher.

Geodes are found by breaking rocks throughout the world, including Stardew Valley's mines. If players are exploring the underground area, players could also kill Duggies as they have a 25% chance of dropping them. Geodes could also be caught while fishing, specifically in Fishing Treasure Chests.

Meanwhile, Omni Geodes can also be found by breaking rocks, although this must be done in the mines. If players choose to break them up, there is a far smaller chance that it will be a Thunder Egg, but they may get something valuable otherwise. The rock could also be handed in to the Desert Trader for some goodies.

What To Do With A Thunder Egg

Unfortunately, the Thunder Egg does not have a ton of uses. However, if players stumble upon one, there are a few options to pursue. The easiest option is to sell the mineral for 100 gold. If players have the Gemologist profession, they can sell it for 130 gold instead. Players could also gift the mineral to Stardew Valley's Wizard as he is the only NPC who would be interested in it.

The Thunder Egg also happens to be used in tailoring. For example, the Thunder Egg can be used on a Sewing Machine as a spool to create a purple and pink shirt. Also, if players happen to have access to the dye pots at Emily and Haley's home, the Thunder Egg can be used as a purple dye if necessary.

Other than what is stated above, there are no other major uses for the Thunder Egg as of this moment. All other NPCs would dislike if if the player gifted this item to them, so if someone doesn't have another use for it, it may just be worth selling it and moving on.

Stardew Valley is available on Mobile, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS Vita, and Xbox One.
