Stardew Valley players have quite a few options to pursue when starting out in the game. Each passing season brings new crops and new quests that players can take on. Aside from maintaining the farm, however, Stardew Valley also features mines and caverns that players can work their way through. Recently, one player shared their impressive run all the way down to level 1000 in the game’s especially dangerous Skull Cavern.

Stardew Valley was released in 2016 and allows players to get to know the nearby citizens of Pelican Town as they explore, mine, and farm their way through the years. Early on in a playthrough, players get introduced to the nearby mines of Stardew Valley where they can gather ore and other important materials. Aside from this area, players can also head to the Skull Cavern later on in the game and take on this challenge to earn even greater rewards.

This achievement comes from Reddit user NuclearNarwhal7 and it is truly a remarkable moment. This post shows this Stardew Valley player about to pass out after having reached level 1000 of the Skull Cavern. The indicator of a player’s depth in the cavern is on the top left of the image and it reads, incredibly, 1000. Due to the time limit the game imposes on players (6 am to 2am the next day) this is an impressive achievement even for well-experienced players. Aside from this impressively deep run in the Skull Cavern, the post also shows the sheer number of buffs the player has running in order to better handle Stardew Valley’s monsters common in this area.

This type of challenge is not for the faint of heart as the Skull Cavern in Stardew Valley is one of the most challenging areas. In order to get down this deep, NuclearNarwhal7 mentions that they used a significant number of staircases, an item in the game that allows players to immediately descend one level of a cavern or mine. Attempting to get down this deep without staircases would likely be impossible.

The Skull Cavern is a great example of giving players the option to challenge themselves for even greater rewards. Because it is an endless area to explore and discover, Stardew Valley's Skull Cavern adds an incentive for late-game players to keep coming back.

Then again, the Skull Cavern can be intimidating for Stardew Valley players regardless of how long they have been playing. With a variety of different monsters and even prehistoric levels, the Skull Cavern isn’t exactly a welcoming place to explore and get familiar with. Either way, this achievement by NuclearNarwhal7 should earn them quite a lot of respect from fellow Stardew Valley players.

Stardew Valley is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
