Stardew Valley's Ginger Island location offers players plenty of additional locations to explore, items to collect, and crops to grow. Among the latter are pineapples. Considering the valuable artisan goods they can produce, their usefulness in cooking, and the potential call for 100 of them in a Special Order from Caroline, many players seek out seeds to grow this tropical fruit.
Finding Pineapple Seeds might not be an easy task, though, as no stores carry them. Instead, the player must explore Ginger Island, seeking them out. Here's where Stardew Valley players can find Pineapple Seeds, and how to grow them.
Where To Find Pineapple Seeds
Unlike most seeds, Pineapple Seeds cannot be purchased in exchange for money. However, the player can barter for them with the Island Trader on the north side of Ginger Island. This trading post requires 10 Golden Walnuts to unlock, and can be purchased once the player has unlocked the Island Farmhouse.
In this little shack, a bluebird will offer certain trades to the player, including the option to purchase one Pineapple Seed for one Magma Cap. Magma Caps are a mushroom unique to Ginger Island, which can be found by foraging in the Volcano Dungeon and by slaying the False Magma Cap monsters found there.
Certain RNG-controlled interactions also have the chance of resulting in Pineapple Seeds, listed below:
- Tiger Slimes have a 1.6% chance of dropping Pineapple Seeds when killed.
- Hot Heads, an explosive, high-defense monster inhabiting the Volcano Dungeon, have a 10% chance to drop Pineapple Seeds upon being slain.
- There is approximately a 14% chance to find 5 Pineapple Seeds inside a Golden Coconut. These can be found all over Ginger Island, and players can take them to Clint's blacksmith shop to have him crack them open.
How To Grow & Use Pineapples
Unlike most seeds, the description for Pineapple Seeds does not include instructions for their growing season; instead, it simply says, "Plant these in warm weather." This means that they will grow during the summer in Stardew Valley, or year-round in the tropical warmth of Ginger Island. Thus, they're perfect for planting on the Island Farm.
Pineapples take fourteen days to mature (without the aid of Speed-Gro), and once fully grown, will produce fruit every seven days. The player can sell the pineapples as they are, or use them to create and sell artisan products such as wine and jelly. The sell prices for pineapple products are as follows:
