Harvey is one of Stardew Valley's six bachelors that players can enter a romantic relationship with. Serving as Pelican Town's local doctor, Harvey runs the local clinic located beside Pierre's General Store. While Harvey's exact age is never confirmed, he appears to be the oldest bachelor in the bunch and is often overlooked by many players, especially when compared to Stardew Valley's other romantic candidates.

However, there are plenty of reasons why players should consider pursuing a relationship with Harvey. First, out of all the bachelors available in Stardew Valley, a relationship with Harvey tends to be more mature and stable, especially since all he wants is a steady companion. Second, though Harvey may appear too laid back for some, he tends to lean on the romantic side, especially once players get to know him.

Harvey is the Model of a Mature and Stable Relationship

Given Harvey's mature personality, engaging in a relationship with him is pretty much drama-free, unlike other bachelors. Harvey can often be found working diligently in his clinic or doing house calls to older residents such as George. The first-ever heart event players witness occurs in George's house, where Harvey will ask the player whether they agree with his assessment regarding George's health. Of course, agreeing with Harvey will earn Stardew Valley players friendship points, while doing the opposite will lead to losing points.

As players deepen their relationship with Harvey, succeeding events would eventually reveal his personality, interests, and hobbies. In one instance, players will catch Harvey participating in an aerobics class with the ladies of Pelican Town. Once he notices the player watching, Harvey is startled and is horrified that someone outside the group saw his interest in aerobics. He will then ask the player to keep it secret, and again, agreeing not to tell anyone will win players friendship points.

Harvey's Romantic and Caring Side

Although a relationship with Harvey may not be as dramatic or exciting as other Stardew Valley bachelors, players can still expect some sweet gestures from the local doctor. When visiting his clinic at four hearts, Harvey will tell the player that he intends to send them a letter about being due for their annual physical exam. While the player will hesitate to go in for a check-up, Harvey reassures them not to be nervous. During the exam, Harvey would comment that the player's pulse was higher than usual.

In this scenario, players will have the opportunity to flirt with him a little bit by choosing the option "I'm a little nervous." However, Harvey will be oblivious to the player's attempt and tell them that there's nothing to worry about. Choosing this option grants players 20 friendship points, while selecting the latter will lose them 50 points. While Harvey's relationship with the player is still in its early stages, it is already apparent that he is somewhat interested in the player.

During the 10-heart event, players will receive a letter from Harvey inviting them to the railroad tracks for a surprise. Once the player arrives, they will find him on a hot air balloon that he's rented for the player. While Harvey has expressed in the past that he has a fear of heights, he reassures the player that he's okay given that he feels safe with the player around. Once up in the air, Harvey will take a peek below and marvel at the breathtaking view of the town. He will then comment that the two-hour rental time is over, but he doesn't care as he approaches to kiss the player. The 10-heart event shows that, while Harvey doesn't offer the most exciting relationship, he isn't without a romantic side.
