It seems like modern life and farming simulation games like indie title Stardew Valley will always have a lot of content and gameplay features for its player base to spend time on. Whether it is tending to or fixing up their large Stardew Valley farm, heading to The Mines to gather materials, or simply fishing around the available bodies of water, the sheer amount of activities gives fans a lot to do in-game. One such fan recently aired their frustration about fishing in Stardew Valley, sharing a video clip of them struggling to reel in an unpredictable fish.

Though most of Stardew Valley's activities such as crop and livestock raising are similar to many other farm sim titles on the market, Stardew Valley's fishing activity is a bit more complicated than most. Instead of simply waiting to click and catch the fish when it bites, players have to play a mini-game in order to reel their catch in. With rare and legendary fish available in Stardew Valley, without proper patience and the right tools, the fishing mini-game can become difficult and frustrating for some players.

Showing just how unpredictable fishing can be in Stardew Valley, Redditor Dari-702 shared a short video of them fishing in the farm sim title. Many Stardew Valley players can likely relate to the Redditor's footage, as they can see them struggle with the mini-game and the very erratic movement of the fish. Unfortunately, Dari-702 was unable to catch the fish, even though they spent a good few seconds trying to follow how fast the fish moves up and down.

Stardew Valley fans were sympathetic to the original poster's frustration. Some shared the same feelings as Dari-702, while others dropped useful tips and tricks to make it easier for players to catch fish in Stardew Valley. Fellow players shared that most fish in the game follow certain patterns that the Redditor can follow to help them nab their catch, while others also share that it may be easier to fish depending on the type of rod and lure used.

Overall, the Stardew Valley community seems to prove that it is wholesome and helpful towards Dari-702's fishing frustration. Given just how difficult and annoying the activity can be in the farming sim, it is likely a relief for the members of the fan base to know that they are not alone in having difficulties with fishing. If worse comes to worst, there are fan-created mods that aid players in tracking fish movement in the game.

Stardew Valley is currently available for Mobile, PC, PS4, PlayStation Vita, Switch, and Xbox One.
