Table of contents

Many Stardew Valley players will know Emily as the girl who likes to send them random gifts and recipes in the mail. Maybe they'll know her as the one who lets you use her sewing machine, or perhaps she's that strange one that has weird psychedelic dreams.

Either way, while Emily may be odd, she's one of the best characters in Stardew Valley for players to get closer to - whether in friendship or in marriage. She's super generous, and she's a lot of fun to be around, too. In this guide, we'll give players the best advice on how to increase their friendship with Emily fast, including her schedule, her favorite gifts, and more!

Emily's Regular Schedule For Every Season

Stardew Valley Emily

Contrary to almost every other Stardew Valley character, Emily's schedule is not impacted by the seasons. In fact, her schedule remains the same despite the seasons and instead only changes during specific days or specific types of weather. Thanks to this, Emily's schedule is one of the easiest to remember in the entire game - good news for players who don't want to spend much of their days chasing her around!

That being said, Emily does have a few days that deviate from her usual schedule. On Fall 15, she'll visit Calico Desert to celebrate Sandy's birthday. On Winter 11, she has her annual check-up at Harvey's clinic, though she can still be found working at the Stardrop Saloon during the evening.

The Best Gifts for Emily: Likes, Loves, Dislikes, and Hates

emily stardew valley gift

Each character in Stardew Valley has a whole range of gifts they enjoy receiving, as well as gifts they don't like to be given. Giving gifts is a core gameplay mechanic, and players should take advantage of it whenever they can. Higher friendship means higher rewards since the characters players can become close with will often send their friends gifts and recipes in the mail in return.

Emily is an especially generous Stardew Valley character, meaning that giving her gifts is well worth any trouble players may have to go through to get the gifts in the first place. Emily's taste in gifts is also relatively easy to guess, too; since she's very into nature, crystals, and other whimsical interests, her fondness for gemstones and flowers seems a bit obvious. On the opposite note, Emily seems to hate fish, so staying away from anything the player has reeled in recently is a safe bet!

Emily's Heart Events

The currency of friendship within Stardew Valley is hearts. When the player grows close enough to another villager, they'll be rewarded with heart events as a symbol of how close they've grown to the character. These heart events can be achieved by speaking to and gifting other characters regularly. Emily has several heart events, and they're, thankfully, all pretty easy to trigger.

  • Two Hearts: enter Emily's house.
  • Four Hearts: enter town on any sunny day in any season other than Winter.
  • Six Hearts: enter Emily's house while she's there.
  • Eight Hearts: the player will receive a letter in the mail from Emily, inviting them to meet her at the Mayor's Manor. Visit the Manor at any point after receiving the letter.
  • Ten Hearts: the player will receive a letter in the mail from Emily, inviting them to meet her in the Secret Woods after 10 PM. To access the Secret Woods, the player will need an axe of at least steel quality to chop down the Large Log blocking the entrance of the Woods. However, this event can be accessed whenever the player enters the Secret Woods for the first time after receiving Emily's letter, so the player can take as long as they may need to get the necessary axe upgrade.
  • Fourteen Hearts: leave the Farmhouse between 6 AM and 8:20 AM on any morning.

What Happens After Marrying Emily?

After marrying Emily, she'll move into the Farmhouse with the player. After moving in, she'll add a small room to the right of the Farmhouse, complete with her parrot companion. As well as her room, she'll add a small crystal garden around the back of the Farmhouse where the player can often find her meditating. Her schedule changes a bit, too - she can usually be found in the Farmhouse, but on Mondays, she'll visit her sister and walk around town, and on Fridays, she'll visit the beach before heading to work at the Saloon.

After she moves in, Emily will give the player plenty of gifts. On rainy mornings, she may offer the player Bean Hotpot, Cloth, Duck Feather, Refined Quartz, or Wool. On rainy evenings, she'll offer the player a selection of 'gluten-free' desserts, including Blueberry Tart, Chocolate Cake, Cookie, or Rice Pudding. On random days, she might offer the player Bean Hotpot, Coffee, Cloth, Duck Feather, Omni Geode, Refined Quartz, or Wool.

Stardew Valley is currently available for Mobile, PC, PS4, PlayStation Vita, Switch, and Xbox One.
