In Stardew Valley, there are several different kinds of geodes, rocks, metals, crystals, and more that players will have to mine for. Not only can mining in Stardew Valley earn players money, but it can also help players to make all sorts of recipes. One of the many minerals needed is called the Earth Crystal.
What is an Earth Crystal?
The Earth Crystal is a mineral usually found by mining in Stardew Valley, but it can be found in other places. Earth Crystals are needed to create both the Mayonnaise Machine and the Earth Obelisk. One is also needed for the Geologist's Bundle in the Boiler Room. To make a Mayonnaise Machine that turns eggs into mayo, players will need Farming Level 2, 15 wood, 15 stone, 1 copper bar, and an Earth Crystal.

An Earth Obelisk can transport the main character from their farm to the mountains in an instant. It needs 500,000g, 10 Iridium Bars, and 10 Earth Crystals. Players will also need Earth Crystals for:
- One Earth Crystal can be used to make a Shirt in Stardew Valley's Sewing Machine.
- For random quests on the Wanted Board. Each quest grants 150g and 150 friendship points.
- Stonefish will need five of these Crystals to upgrade the pond from 3 to 5 fish. Even more of these stones may be needed to get from 5 to 7.
So at a minimum, players will need at least 20 of these elusive gems to make sure they can create or turn in all the quests that need them.
Best Places to Find Earth Crystals
The best place to find Earth Crystals is in levels 1-29 of the mine. They spawn from floors 1 to 39, and players can also get them from killing Duggies, which spawn in levels 1-29. Other places to find Earth Crystals are:
- Dropped rarely from killing Haunted Skulls
- Found something in Fishing Treasure Chests
- Can be found in water while panning
- A small chance for them to drop from Wilderness Golems
The best way to get these rocks and many others is to spend some time delving through the mines. This will help players get the Earth Crystals they need and the other gems and rocks to help them craft other recipes or make some Stardew Valley money for themselves.
