It's been five years since the original release of ConcernedApe's Stardew Valley, and the life-sim/farming simulator is still going strong. Often heralded as inventing/reinventing the genre, Stardew Valley impressed players and critics alike with its satisfying gameplay and well-crafted world.

One of the most interesting things about the world of Pelican Town in Stardew Valley is that it keeps expanding as the game goes on. Seasonal events and player unlocks will reveal new areas of the map, and entire new regions to be explored. One of these regions is the Calico Desert, which contains, among other things, Mr. Qi's Casino. The Casino is a hard location to access, but offers exciting rewards to players who make the effort.

Finding the Casino in Stardew Valley

Before players can think about accessing the Casino, they'll first need to unlock Stardew Valley's Desert region. This can be done by repairing the Bus Stop, allowing players to take a bus to the Desert for 500g from 10:10 am to 5:00 pm every day. To repair the Bus Stop, players will either need to purchase all the Vault Bundles in the Community Center for a total of 42,500g or spend 40,000g on the Joja Community Development Form if they've converted the Community Center into a Joja Warehouse.

Once players arrive at the Desert Bus Stop, they can head south to find Oasis, a pink-brick store that also houses the Casino. Although Oasis is open to all from 9:00 am to 11:50 pm, the Casino Bouncer will not let players through until they've completed the Mysterious Qi quest. This quest can be started by going left from the Pelican Town Bus Stop, and opening the box in the dark area called the Backwoods. Meeting Mr. Qi in Stardew Valley

Once players have completed the entire Mysterious Mr. Qi questline, they'll be allowed access to the Casino. There they'll meet Mr. Qi himself, as well as a shady individual selling a Statue of Endless Fortune for 1,000,000g.

However, the real draw of the Casino is the gambling, and players will be able to take part by purchasing 100 Qi Coins for 1000g from the terminal on the back wall. There are two games for players to bet their money on, the Calico Spin slot machines, and the CalicoJack card tables. One of the tables allows low bets, while the others require a buy-in of 1000 Qi Coins. Lucky players can then trade the Qi Coins they win for prizes at the store in the back-right corner of the Casino:

  • Primal Motion Art: 5,000q
  • Burnt Offering Art: 4,000q
  • Highway 89 Art: 4,000q
  • Spires Art: 3,000q
  • Top Hat: 8,000q
  • Alien Rarecrow: 10,000q
  • Hardwood Fence: 100q
  • Magnet: 1,000q
  • Warp Totem: Farm: 500q
