Stardew Valley is a simulation role-playing video game available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS Vita, iOS, and Android. The game follows a character who takes over their deceased grandfather's farm in Stardew Valley. After settling in, the player grows crops, raises livestock, crafts goods, mines ores, sells products, and develops friendships (and relationships) with the townspeople.

These townspeople are referred to as villagers, citizens who live in and around Pelican Town, the main location in Stardew Valley. Each character has their own interests, daily routine, quests, gifts, and much, much more. One of these people is Leo!

10 Ginger Island

Stardew Valley Leo Duck Feather

Leo is from Ginger Island. It is located in the Fern Islands archipelago, reachable by the boat that the player repairs in the backroom at Willy's Fish Shop. They need tickets, available at the Community Center.

Apparently, Leo lives there alone. He does not have any parents. They were lost at sea. Even though he has no family, Leo considers the parrots who inhabit Ginger Island to be his family. He calls them his bird family.

9 Golden Walnuts

When the player meets Leo, he is too shy to even speak to them. Not a single word. Before Leo will talk to the player, they need to befriend the parrots of the island. This is only possible if the player gives them Golden Walnuts.

In fact, Golden Walnuts are literally considered currency among the parrots on Ginger Island. The amount the player has is displayed directly above the wallet in the menu. There are a total of 130 Golden Walnuts scattered about the island, obtainable through exploration, killing monsters, farming, fishing, mining, and breaking crates. Only 10 is needed for Leo, though!

8 Heart Events

Stardew Valley Leo Beach

There is no Heart Event with Leo after reaching one heart, but he warms up to the player after they get two hearts with him. Leo will approach the player at Island West between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. if it is sunny out. And after three hearts, he sends them a recipe in the mail.

Once four hearts is reached between the player and Leo, he will approach them between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. at Island North on a sunny day. There is no event for five hearts but at six hearts Leo will move to the mainland.

Following this, seven hearts will cause him to send another recipe to the player via mail. Finally, there is no event for eight hearts...however, after nine hearts are reached Leo will be seen thriving at the Mountain between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. (as long as it is not raining).

7 Leo's Friendships

After moving to the mainland, Leo makes several friends. One of the friends he makes is Linus, an old man who lives in a small tent in the northern area of Pelican Town right near The Mines. Another friend Leo makes is Jas, a young girl who lives outside of Pelican Town and hangs out with Vincent often.

He makes friends with Vincent — a young boy who lives in the southern area of Pelican Town and is always following in his older's brother's footsteps — too! Also, Leo makes friends with Penny, a woman (and teacher) who lives in a trailer in Pelican Town by the river.

Stardew Valley Leo Seem Good

“*sniff* *sniff*... Why are you giving this to me? Do you want me to bury it for you?” Leo hates Beer, Holly, Hops, Mead, Morel, Oil, Pale Ale, Pina Colada, Triple Shot Espresso, Unmilled Rice, and Wine.

Beer, Mead, Pale Ale, and Wine are pulled from Kegs. Holly and Morel are found through foraging. Hops and Unmilled Rice are yielded via Crops. Oil is obtained from the Oil Maker, Pina Colada is picked up at The Beach Resort on Ginger Island, and Triple Shot Espresso is made via cooking.

2 Happy Birthday

Stardew Valley Leo Beautiful World

On the 26th of Summer, Leo was born! Like the other characters, he accepts up to two gifts each week; and each increases the friendship level. On his birthday, Leo accepts an additional gift, which has an eight times multiplier effect.

He says either “A birthday gift? That's very kind of you! I love it." or “You remembered my birthday! Thank you. This is great!" when given something Leo loves or likes. But a neutral gift will cause him to say “Oh, a birthday gift! Thank you.” And if he dislikes or hates it, Leo says “Oh... It's for my birthday? ... Thanks.”

1 The Schedule

Stardew Valley Leo Beach And Winter

Where in Stardew Valley is Leo?

Well, when it is raining, he is in his treehouse hut or at Linus's tent. On Tuesdays, Leo goes to the dock, then the jungle, then the Parrot Vendor. Whereas, on Sundays, he goes to the Banana Shrine. But for a regular day, Leo is by the hut, or by the parrot perch in Island South, or by the volcano in Island North.

During the Spring and the Summer, he will visit the museum, and the mountain lake, and the playground. During the Fall, Leo checks out the Community Center and the Parrot Vendor as well. During the Winter, he also shops at the Night Market.
