Stardew Valley, the extremely popular 2D life/farm-sim, is undergoing regular updates courtesy of its developer, ConcernedApe. Now, ConcernedApe - aka Eric Barone - has released a new screenshot from the upcoming 1.5 update, teasing some new additions with it.

While Barone didn't actually have anything in particular to say about the screenshot, beyond that it contained elements that would be added in the 1.5 Stardew Valley update, the image itself has a lot to say. At least three unique things appear in the image that aren't currently in the game, which has led some to believe that it may not only contain new gameplay elements, but possibly a new area or farm type entirely.

These three new additions include the ducks, trees, and bench. While ducks aren't new to Stardew Valley, they've never been able to swim in the water before. These may either be ducks that the farmer owns, or could possibly be wild ducks, if it's a new area being shown. While the trees look very similar to existing ones in the game, they're notably submerged, which is something that hasn't been seen before. Finally, a lone bench is pictured with what appears to be a playable character sitting on it, which also hasn't been possible up to this point.

For now, there's no official release date for the 1.5 update, but most fans seem content to wait. All of the additions to the game thus far have been completely free, and have added some significant changes or improvements to the game, like adding online and offline co-op, new farm types, and even new clothes for the playable characters to wear, complete with a new system to craft them with.

While much about the 1.5 update is still unknown, Barone has previously revealed that players will be able to grow bananas in Stardew Valley, and that the update will add new end-game content to keep players engaged.

Stardew Valley is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
