Eric Barone, the creator of Stardew Valley, has given a new update on version 1.5 of his beloved farming and life simulator. Update 1.5 of Stardew Valley could be releasing very soon, even perhaps still in 2020, and it will apparently come with an all-new farm type and additional new settings.

Barone has already offered some interesting details on update 1.5 of Stardew Valley, but the newest tidbit is rather tantalizing. Players will be able to select a Beach Farm as the type that they build up, which will assuredly change both the appearance and gameplay approaches. An Advances Game Options selection will also alter gameplay to fit gameplay styles that players are more interested in.

The Beach Farm will be good for foraging and fishing, and there will also be tons of open space thanks to the nature of a sandy beach. As a nice bonus, supply crates also wash up on the shore from time to time, however the big negative of the Beach Farm is that sprinklers do not work in the sand. Sprinklers are one of the most convenient items in the game, as they can take care of watering the farm once they are built and installed. If the Beach Farm is selected, using split-screen co-op multiplayer in Stardew Valley may be a good option, with one player focusing on watering.

The settings for Stardew Valley continue to grow in update 1.5. The community center in Stardew Valley offers tons of side-quest options, and now players will be able to adjust bundles and even allow for a guaranteed year one completion.

Perhaps a lesser talked about feature in the game, but still very much enjoyed, is the dungeon crawling elements of Stardew Valley. The monster-fighting in Stardew Valley helps give it a more RPG feel, on top of what the title provides as a simulation. Now players will be able to adjust the mine rewards when fighting through the caverns in the Advanced Game Options in version 1.5. On top of that, players can also toggle on or off an option to have monsters spawn on the farm itself.

Barone has been working on version 1.5 of Stardew Valley for quite some time. The game has sold over 10 million copies as of early this year, and it continues to grow. After working hard on the game for years and continuing to update the game with massive content drops and changes, Barone is not done yet. He has not ruled out the idea of Stardew Valley 2, updates beyond version 1.5, or entirely new games outside of the farming sim.

Stardew Valley is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
