The Book of Boba Fett star Temuera Morrison has promised that the upcoming show will fill in the gaps left open from the previous Star Wars movies. The Book of Boba Fett is coming exclusively to Disney Plus this December and will follow the titular bounty hunter as he looks to take over the criminal underworld of Tatooine.
After Boba Fett's supposed demise in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, the bounty hunter returned in season 2 of The Mandalorian, meaning there are several years of missing history for the character. Morrison, who plays the infamous bounty hunter, has now promised fans that the Disney Plus series is going to fill in some gaps.
"There will definitely be a number of answers," Morrison teased during an interview with SFX Magazine. "Some long-winded answers. Some short and sharp answers. Some colorful answers. We're filling a lot of gaps." Ming-Na Wen, who plays Boba's companion in crime Fennec Shand, added to that point and detailed how Boba and Fennec Shand both looked death in the face and survived, which is what brought these two closer together in the show. "Boba died – or we thought he did – in the sarlacc pit, so I think that both of them share those near-death experiences in common...They both have a vulnerability that they understand," she said.
The non-canon Star Wars works detailed how Boba Fett survived the Sarlacc Pit on Tatooine. Disney may detail a different version of these events in the show, so fans should keep an open mind when it comes to expectations. Considering how the Sarlacc Pit is often a one way trip for many people, there aren't too many options one can think of that wouldn't stretch the realm of reality.
Bounty hunters like Boba Fett are typically known for being equipped for almost any and every situation. Not being gifted in the abilities of the force makes it so they need to even the odds with practical means, which includes technology and weapons. So it's not out of the realm of possibility that Boba managed to survive the pit solely off of his equipment and survival skills.
Boba Fett managed to survive a canceled video game, the recent trilogy of movies, and was brought back by what many can assume was fan demand. The character was barely shown during the original Star Wars trilogy yet somehow garnered a lot of fan appreciation that was inevitable because the character looked really cool. Hopefully The Book of Boba Fett will give the bounty hunter his long overdue screen time.
The Book of Boba Fett will be available on Disney Plus December 29th, 2021.
