Actual official details surrounding the upcoming limited series Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi have been scarce at the best of times. But luckily, fans will always have leaks to keep them company. Thanks to a tiny glimpse of a set under construction, the speculation monsters can finally feed for another day.

Recently, Noah Outlaw, one of the hosts on the Kessel Run Transmissions YouTube channel, happened to find a shot from the perfect angle to catch a glimpse of a sandy-looking set being built. He was quick to point out how similar it looks to the Lars Homestead on Tatooine seen in several of the Star Wars films, namely A New Hope and Attack of the Clones, and went on to speculate that if that's the case, then the set is likely being built for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi has been confirmed to feature the actors behind Owen and Beru Lars, last seen in Revenge of the Sith, which further lends credence to this theory. Being set 10 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, it was already known that the majority of the show (if not the entire thing) will take place on Tatooine, exploring the life of Ewan McGregor's Kenobi during his self-imposed isolation on Tatooine. So, the possible set location would make sense.

Additional well-researched speculation has suggested that Obi-Wan Kenobi might not only bring back Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon Jinn in Force ghost form but that at least part of it will focus on Kenobi attempting to redeem Anakin Skywalker after the latter's fall to the dark side and transformation into Darth Vader. Disney has already confirmed the return of Hayden Christensen as Vader, though it's unclear just how such a confrontation will work if Kenobi spends the whole series on Tatooine. For one, if Vader knew of his old master's location, what would stop him from returning and hunting the old Jedi down? Though, to be fair, that's a lot of sand.

This set photo serves to inspire even more speculation about the show that boasts the return of McGregor's iconic beard, perhaps the chief of which concerns just how prominent Owen and Beru Lars will feature in the story. It's well-known that they raised Luke Skywalker as their own after Kenobi brought the infant to them to keep him safe, but will their relationship with young Luke be explored during the series or simply be alluded to?

However things turn out, Obi-Wan Kenobi is sure to drum up plenty of publicity in the lead-up to its release next year. There's no guarantee that any of these theories will end up being true, but one thing is still for certain: Jar Jar will not be on the show.

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to release in 2022.
