Now, Aspyr Media has recently put together a real treat for fans of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 – The Sith Lords. After more than 10 years since the game’s release, the company has officially released a significant patch for Knights of the Old Republic 2 on Steam.

With a bunch of fresh features, hopefully the update will help ensure the Obsidian Entertainment-developed RPG will keep on kicking for yet another decade. For example, in addition to Aspyr Media’s improvements that add Linux and Mac support, there’s also Achievements that can be obtained through gameplay, controller support, native widescreen resolution support, 5K resolution support and cloud saves. On top of all that, there’s also Steam Workshop support.

Star Wars- Knights of the Old Republic 2 Gets Revamped on Steam

While the entirety of the update is fantastic news, the inclusion of Steam Workshop support is arguably the most important supplement due to gamers now being able to get their hands on the highly esteemed The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod via Valve’s popular online marketplace. For the uninitiated, over the course of three years, a few ardent fans and modders put the restoration together in order to complete what many believe to be an unfinished game, as all the dormant content on the game’s disc became renewed once more. Ultimately, the mod vastly improved the title by including a newly playable area, extended conversations, more in-depth subplots, and myriad bug fixes.

Even though the incorporation of so much content should be enough of an incentive for people to get KOTOR 2, should certain Star Wars fans need a little extra push, the low price should help. As of writing, Knights of the Old Republic 2 is 25%, which translates to $7.49 on Steam. However, the sale won’t last for long, as it ends on July 28, 2015.

With Star Wars fever burning hotter than ever, even the developers responsible for the first Knights of the Old Republic are looking to rekindle the hopes of making a third one. As a matter of fact, a couple of months ago, some of the Bioware team behind the original KOTOR RPG publicly stated an interest in working on a sequel. And with EA currently holding the license to Star Wars games, a follow-up isn’t entirely out of the question.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 – The Sith Lords can be procured for the original Xbox and PC, and is now available for Mac and Linux.
