The upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was already said to be a large game, and now it seems to have gotten even bigger ahead of its launch later this month. Eager fans just got more information about the game this week thanks to a recent preview, in which the developers at Respawn sat down and shared plenty of intriguing details about Jedi: Survivor’s improved combat, character customization options, and narrative connections to the larger Star Wars universe. From its initial unveiling during last year’s Star Wars Day celebrations to the larger reveal and gameplay trailer at the 2022 Game Awards, Jedi: Survivor has promised to be much bigger than its predecessor, 2019’s hit action title Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. This includes how much drive space the game will take up, with early leaks claiming that Jedi: Survivor would require roughly 130 GB, already a massive increase from Fallen Order’s 44 GB.RELATED: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Players Can't Max the Skill Tree with Main Story AloneNow Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s official size has been revealed on EA’s website, and it is even larger than those already eye-opening leaks suggested. As reported by the Daily Star Wars Games Twitter account, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will take up a whopping 155 GB of storage space on PC – a good 25 GB higher than what was previously believed and 111 GB above the PC version of Fallen Order.

Fans in the comment section of Daily Star Wars Games’ post have already started to speculate on what could have caused Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to increase in size by so much, and sure enough this week’s hands-on preview has promised a significant amount of content. Jedi: Survivor will let players explore new planets as former Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis, customize the hero’s look with different outfits and hairstyles, and even build on Cal’s connection to the Force by unlocking new powers and lightsaber stances.

All of this means that Jedi: Survivor will be a much bigger experience than its predecessor, and the game's newly-confirmed 155 GB size is a likely testament to how much more Respawn is putting into the sequel to its breakout 2019 hit. Of course, this beefed-up file size could also be the result of compression and optimization issues, but in either case players will probably need to free up a considerable amount of disk space ahead of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s launch later this month.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launches on April 28 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
