Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is coming out soon. Very soon, in fact, as the title releases tomorrow. Hopefully, those that were interested in binging Stars Wars in preparation for Fallen Order got through their lists! In anticipation, Respawn Entertainment revealed a new trailer for the game during XO19, and the trailer reveals a new weapon type.
The launch trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order that was at XO19 revealed more cool moves for the starring Jedi, Cal Kestis, but the big surprise was at the end of the gameplay trailer. The final few seconds of the trailer revealed Cal wielding a double-bladed lightsaber, with a new moveset not yet set in the promotional material for Fallen Order.
There were two trailers for Fallen Order shown during XO19, but the first was more of a commercial to promote the game than something that revealed more information on Fallen Order. The second trailer, however, was more focused on story and gameplay, and revealed the double lightsaber at the end. There is a quick snippet of Cal throwing the double lightsaber in a mob control sort of move, but nothing else was shown about the weapon's moveset. Players will have to learn more about it themselves when Jedi: Fallen Order releases.
The new trailer also reveals a bit more about the story of Fallen Order, as well as a bunch of cool moves players can do with the normal lightsaber. There are a few common mechanics missing from Fallen Order, including the ability to fast travel, but one thing the title is not lacking is the ability to look cool while dispatching foes.
With Fallen Order so close to release, it seems a bit odd that Respawn would reveal a new weapon now. With a launch trailer already released for Fallen Order a couple of weeks ago, this additional launch trailer seems a bit extra. However, the new weapon just might be the push someone on the fence regarding Fallen Order to purchase the title when it releases tomorrow.
While some information about this new Star Wars title has come out, including what Fallen Order's difficulty levels mean, there hasn't been a lot of information available about the title that Respawn hasn't revealed themselves, other than a very recent Fallen Order datamine. But once it releases tomorrow, everyone will be sure to learn more about this piece of the Star Wars universe.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order launches November 15 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
