Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order opened up EA Play with a blast by showcasing the official gameplay that focused on the main character, Cal Kestis, rescuing some Wookiees from Imperial captivity. During this Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order gameplay reveal, however, fans of the franchise were treated with the surprise appearance of a couple of familiar faces from Star Wars lore and, more specifically, Star Wars: Rogue One.

The gameplay opens up with players receiving instructions from Saw Gerrera who has had a long run in Star Wars lore before ultimately meeting his end during the events of Rogue One. He first appeared as a much younger version of himself in Star Wars Clone Wars during the Onderon Rebellion, and later as a more radicalized version in Star Wars Rebels. In Rogue One, he was played by Forest Whitaker who is reprising the role for this game. It is this version of the character appearing in Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order because the events of Respawn's Star Wars title happen closer to the time of Rogue One.

At the end of the gameplay, players see another "familiar face" that first originated in Rogue One. A KX enforcer droid attacks Cal at the end, and for those who do not recognize the officially dubbed class of security droid, it is the same model as Rogue One's K-2SO. However, while the KX obviously looks identical to K-2 (as seen around the 13-minute mark below), the droid is clearly not joking around with Cal and will hopefully provide some intense combat for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Seeing Saw Gerrera and a KX droid appear in the game will draw the attention of hardcore fans for sure, and it opens the possibility of the game having more connections to Rogue One and other Star Wars stories. We didn't list Saw Gerrera, but we did list Vader, Commander Cody, and Thrawn as characters we would love to see in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

While EA Play gave fans a solid first glimpse at this new Star Wars game, E3 isn't over yet, and Microsoft has recently confirmed that the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be at the Xbox E3 press briefing. More information will likely become available there.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is scheduled to launch on November 15, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
