Following the release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order's first trailer during Star Wars Celebration 2019 and the confirmation of its launch date, many fans of the science fiction franchise are wondering exactly how much time they will be able to sink into the final version of the game when it goes live. While details regarding the forthcoming release's length have yet to be fully confirmed, the title's Game Director, Stig Asmussen, and Lucasfilm's Steve Blank have explained that fans shouldn't expect it to be a "five-hour game".

During a recent interview after Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order's official unveiling at Star Wars Celebration 2019, Asmussen and Blank were asked if the development team had a concrete idea as to what the game's play time would be. According to the Game Director, "It’s not going to be a short game", with its length running contrary to certain fans' comments online that it would be "a five-hour game, after Vince [Zampella] announced that we’re going to be single-player only, and no microtransactions".

Asmussen dispelling this reaction from various folks online is due to the fact that many were disappointed by Star Wars Battlefront 2's short campaign length, as Internet commenters were originally quick to cast aspersions on yet another Star Wars project with EA attached as a publisher. With this being the case, the fans understandably have their fingers crossed that Respawn Entertainment will provide a much meatier portion of gameplay for the campaign of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order once it releases later this year.

Since Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order won't have multiplayer, it should provide Respawn Entertainment with the ability to focus solely on single-player and ensure that the game's story is as sumptuous and satisfying as possible. That said, though, one can only hope that the forthcoming game doesn't unnecessarily pad the campaign with tedious and unimportant plot points just for the sake of lengthening play time.

All things considered, we will simply have to wait and find out exactly how long Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order's single-player campaign is going to be once it becomes available. There's still plenty of time between now and its launch date, so we will likely learn even more on the matter once the game gets closer to release.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is scheduled to launch on November 15, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
