The fall gaming season is officially here and after players dove into the bizarre experience of Death Stranding, it's time for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order to take over. The Respawn game has a lot riding on it and many first impressions have left players with high hopes that this title can usher in a new era of high quality AAA Star Wars games.

Although a lot of the gameplay comparisons point to the combat's similarities to Dark Souls or other FromSoftware games; there are a few other mechanics that will remind players of some Respawn titles. Wall running was all the hype when Titanfall first launched and the devs aren't finished exploring that mode of traversal just yet.

Wall running is a major mechanic in Jedi Fallen Order and players will need to master it to get around the game's different zones after they finish installing the massive game. Players who know the mechanic is coming will spot some walls that seem perfect for running very early on in the game, but they won't be able to use them until the ability is officially unlocked.

Star Wars Wall Run Ridges

Wall running unlocks fairly early in the game, during a flashback sequence to Cal's Jedi training from his childhood. The flashback will explain how to wall run and once that tutorial experience is over players will have full access to the ability. At this point in the game, Cal finds himself on the planet Bogano, which should be full of walls that are perfect for mastering the skill.

To wall run, players first need to identify an eligible surface. Keep in mind that not every wall is going to all running. Walls that players can run on are marked with ridges, so just keep an eye out for those. Check out the photo above to see what the ridges look like.

The wall running itself is very easy once players have unlocked the ability and find the appropriate type of wall. Players just need to have Cal run towards the wall and jump onto it to begin running. At the end of the wall (or whenever players need to bail) just press the jump button to end the wall run and leap back to the ground. That's all there is to it!
