It’s a good time to be a Star Wars fan. Not only is Disney Plus’ Obi-Wan Kenobi show on the horizon, but there are a plethora of games too. Recent LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga previews paint a pretty picture of the game. Respawn Entertainment also recently announced three new Star Wars games it’s involved in, and of course, there’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2. At this point, it feels like EA’s worst-kept secret, and there’s plenty more too.

After Cal Kestis’ original journey, there’s no doubt fans have high expectations for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2. It could be the best game to end EA’s exclusive Star Wars contract with, even though EA won’t stop making them either. There’s been a lot of questions about it lately, though, as EA Play was recently canceled.

Known insider Jeff Grubb was recently asked about this on a GamesBeat Decides Podcast. Many have pointed toward May as a potential reveal for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and any mention of May brings Star Wars Day (May 4) to mind. However, Jeff Grubb narrowed it down more specifically, saying it’s happening at Star Wars Celebration. “Keep an eye out for that because that’s where it’s happening, 100%.” The relevant portion is at the 1:38:00 timestamp below.

As many know, Star Wars Celebration is a fan gathering to celebrate the franchise, going all the way back to 1999. The 2020 celebration had been canceled due to the COVID, and the upcoming celebration is set to take place at the Anaheim Convention Center in California, from May 26-May 29. This means fans may have to wait until the end of May for more Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 news, but Grubb seems confident it will be there.

The question posed to Grubb also asked if it was on track for a holiday 2022 release, but Grubb seems uncertain. There’s been a lot of shifting with EA games and dates tossed around for franchises like Dragon Age 4 and Dead Space Remake, so Grubb wants to say it would be early 2023, but Holiday 2022 “could almost make sense.” Grubb ultimately answers the question by saying he’ll ask and see what he can find out.

Either way, there is more Star Wars content coming across all mediums. It would be great to see Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 release this holiday, but there’s no telling quite yet as everything appears to be quite fluid. Nonetheless, it appears its reveal at Star Wars Celebration is locked-in, so fans should keep an eye on it when it rolls around.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 is reportedly in development.
