It's been a great E3 for Star Wars fans. Bioware's Star Wars: The Old Republic debuted a striking new cinematic trailer. The Kinect portion of Microsoft's press conference featured a light-saber based action game. But for me, the Star Wars event of the show has got to be the new trailer for LucasArts' Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2. Check it out.

Now that's Star Wars! Giving a plausible Star Wars explanation for how Starkiller can appear in a new game (clones!), the trailer really sets the events of the game in motion. From the game's website:

"In the sequel, Starkiller returns with over-the-top Force powers and embarks on a journey to discover his own identity and to reunite with his one true love, Juno Eclipse. In Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2, Starkiller is once again the pawn of Darth Vader -- but instead of training his protegee as a ruthless assassin, the dark lord is attempting to clone his former apprentice in an attempt to create the Ultimate Sith warrior. The chase is on -- Starkiller is in pursuit of Juno and Darth Vader is hunting for Starkiller."

Ranters, I really enjoyed the first Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Though not without problems, the satisfying physics playground coupled with high-fidelity Star Wars aesthetic ultimately won me over. Force Unleashed 2 looks to deliver all the action of the first game, tied to a stronger story. This is one I'm looking forward to.

What about you? Did the trailer get you pumped up for more over-the-top Star Wars action?

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 is, well... unleashed on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, and PC October 26, 2010
