Today is a big day for Star Wars fans. As part of the Star Wars Celebration, EA and DICE showed off some impressive gameplay from their upcoming Star Wars Battlefront reboot, and shared some details about the game.

First off, we know Star Wars Battlefront will be released on November 17th. That is, if the developer and publisher can keep to their current schedule and don't delay it. Not that we're expecting them to, since the next episode in the Star Wars movie franchise is set to release in December and they want the two to release around the same time, but these days who really knows?

EA and DICE also shared some gorgeous screenshots as part of their celebration of the upcoming game. The screenshots show off the highly-detailed planets players will battle on, including Hoth, Tattooine, and Sullust. The photos also show off the unique vehicles players will likely use in the game, such as X-Wings, Tie Fighters, speeders, AT-ATs, and the Millennium Falcon.

EA and DICE have both admitted they are trying new ideas with Star Wars Battlefront and taking a few risks in an effort to create the best possible experience for players. The developer and publisher have been working closely with the folks at Lucasfilm to make sure the content in the games is accurate.

As the screenshots show, the game's focus will be on the original Star Wars Trilogy, so the various destinations, weapons, and vehicles should all be very familiar to those who have seen the movies. In fact, it wouldn't be a bad idea to binge watch the movies before playing the game, as it will likely make the whole experience even more immersive and enjoyable.

That being said, DICE did reveal that the game will tie into the new movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Shortly after Star Wars Battlefront releases, the developer plans to release an add-on called 'Battle of Jakku'. While they didn't many details on the DLC or how it ties into the movie (that should be apparent after players see the movie), they did mention those who preorder Star Wars Battlefront will have early access to the add-on.

Considering Star Wars Battlefront is coming only to PC and current-gen consoles, we're confident the final product will be similar to the quality shown in today's livestream and the above screenshots. The visuals on PC are sure to be better, but it sounds like EA and DICE have worked diligently to make the game as exciting and visually impressive as possible on all platforms.

Overall, we're very excited about Star Wars Battlefront and can't wait for the November 17th release. We'll be excited to see what additional information is revealed in the coming weeks and months in preparation for the game's launch.
