After years of waiting, fans of the Star Wars Battlefront series will finally be treated to a new entry later this year. Set to release just one month before the highly anticipated film Star Wars: The Force Awakens, if DICE and EA are able to deliver, Star Wars Battlefront could be a great way to kick off the impending Star Wars fever.

From what we've seen, Star Wars Battlefront is looking to meet expectations and then some. While some fans have complained about some aspects of the game, such as the lack of space battles, the game still looks like an extremely impressive FPS, and is one of the premiere titles for video gaming this holiday season.

One of the more appealing aspects of the game is the ability to play as iconic characters from the film franchise, such as Boba Fett, Darth Vader, and Luke Skywalker. EA has promised even more of these special characters are going to be included in the final product, and now they've started teasing the next one, which will presumably fall on the Hero side of the Hero and Villain spectrum.

Since we already know of two Villain characters that will be playable in Star Wars Battlefront, it makes sense that EA will announce a new Hero next to even out the ranks. The obvious choice would be Han Solo, as he is by far one of the most popular characters in Star Wars history, and his blaster-oriented combat would be a good counter to Boba Fett, whereas Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker are both lightsaber wielders.

Another obvious choice would be Obi-Wan Kenobi, though since his character is an old man during the events of the original trilogy, it would be somewhat strange to see him on the battlefield. The same thing goes for Yoda. While it's definitely possible that we'll see one or both of them as playable characters in the game, it would make more sense for them to be in a Star Wars Battlefront title that leaned more towards the prequel trilogy, as that was when Obi-Wan and Yoda were in their prime.

That being said, it could also be Princess Leia in order to diversify the ranks of the Heroes and Villains with a female character. Leia would basically be the only logical choice for a playable female character in Star Wars Battlefront, since the game is sticking to the original trilogy, and there's a general lack of female characters to draw inspiration from.

If we're sticking with the mindset of including a female character in the game, though, then another slight possibility could be Rey, the main female protagonist from The Force Awakens. While Star Wars Battlefront is largely focused on the original trilogy of films, there will be the Battle of Jakku DLC to coincide with the launch of the film, that is based on the new movie. Rey could be a great inclusion as a special playable character, as not only would it provide a strong female presence to the cast, but it would also benefit from the hype of The Force Awakens release.

Star Wars Battlefront will be available November 17th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
