Star Wars Battlefront 2 kicked off its The Last Jedi season of content in December, introducing several pieces of content based on the new movie. It seems that the fun isn't over just yet, though, as publisher EA has now detailed another huge update that adds even more The Last Jedi-themed content to the sci-fi shooter.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 update version 1.1 has now been rolled out to players, and it introduces a slew of new gameplay features to the game. One major addition is a new Blast map that is set on Crait, a small planet that has red soil covered with a layer of white salt. Crait was previously added to the game as part of The Last Jedi season, but this update allows players to take part in the Blast (classic team deathmatch) game mode on the planet.

Another significant addition is Iden Versio's TIE fighter. Iden herself is a playable character in the game's multiplayer, but now players will be able to take to the skies in her starfighter, making the best use of its abilities. These abilities include:

  • Afterburner (players gain a temporary speed boost and can break an enemy missile lock)
  • Dual Proton Torpedoes (two proton torpedoes that tracked locked targets and deal a high amount of damage)
  • Laser Barrage (a rapid-fire barrage that also deals high damage)
  • Inferno Leader (with Inferno Leader enabled enemy players within a radius will be revealed to all allied players and these enemies will receive increased damage)

Naturally, Iden's TIE fighter has a list of unlockable Star Cards attached to it, including decreases for Afterburner cooldown, increased health for the starfighter, and an increase to primary weapon damage as well. There are also milestones to achieve, including using the Inferno Leader skill 25 times.

Other changes to the game with this update include nerfs and bug fixes for the heroes Boba Fett, Finn, Captain Phasma, and Lando. For example, Boba Fett's rockets in Rocket Barrage now deal less damage each and the base damage of Finn's EL-16 has been reduced.

More updates and changes to Star Wars Battlefront 2 are in the works, and the patch notes tease "many exciting updates" for the future. These new additions may not just be maps, vehicles, and characters, either. EA is also still deciding whether to bring back the game's microtransactions after they were temporarily removed. Hopefully, more information about the game's future plans will be revealed soon.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
