With Star Wars Battlefront 2 releasing in a little over a week, fans are starting to have growing concerns about the game's lootbox system and how it will affect the upcoming title's gameplay. Although EA and DICE have revealed big changes to the previously pay-to-win system, the premise is still enough to make Star Wars fans nervous - and now we know exactly how much the loot boxes will cost.

Loot boxes, or loot crates as they are called in the game, can be acquired either by playing Star Wars Battlefront 2 or purchasing them from the game's store. Players will need virtual currency called Crystals to buy the boxes, and these Crystals can in turn be acquired by spending real money. The currency comes in several different packs, beginning at $4.99.

500 Crystals - $4.99

1000 Crystals - $9.99

2100 Crystals - $19.99

4400 Crystals - $39.99

12000 Crystals - $99.99

It's worth noting that EA Access members will save 10% on all purchases made, meaning that those willing to purchase some of the larger Crystal packs might want to invest in the service in order to save up to $10.

Players can spend their new currency on Hero, Trooper, or Starfighter crates which will each contain "one or two" Star Cards, crafting parts, and an additional item randomly selected from a pool of victory poses, emotes, and weapons. Hero crates cost 110 Crystals each, Starfighter crates are 120, and Trooper crates will set players back 200 Crystals.

With Battlefront 2 players looking at around 60 crates per $100 spent, many will be put off the service altogether, but fans shouldn't worry about the game becoming pay-to-win. According to EA, the most powerful Star Cards will only be available through playing the game, rather than being dropped in loot crates.

Those who want to pay even less for their Star Wars Battlefront 2 experience can do so with a little patience, given that EA appears to be planning to reduce the price of its newest game to coincide with the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi just a matter of weeks after launch. With this in mind, the latest Battlefront is shaping up to be quite a cheap experience for those who have the self-control necessary to hold off buying games or loot boxes right away.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is set to launch on November 17, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
