Although Star Wars Battlefront 2 was just announced over the weekend with an official reveal trailer, it seems as if DICE and Electronic Arts are already planning to put out plenty of collectible materials for the forthcoming game, starting with a figure based on a soldier from the sequel's Imperial Inferno Squad. As it happens, the developer and publisher are working in conjunction with Hasbro and GameStop to make the model from the toy manufacturer's Black Series available to fans of the franchise.

As seen in the image below for the Star Wars Battlefront 2 Inferno Squad figure, the model holds a laser rifle and is totally decked out in a black and red garb befitting an Imperial flight suit, complete with helmet. According to the product's description, the model stands in at six inches tall, costs $23, and will be available when the game actually comes out later this year on November 17, 2017.

For those unaware, Star Wars Battlefront 2's Inferno Squad was created by the Empire after the destruction of the Death Star in order ensure that Imperial secrets remained safe. As evidenced by the game's solo campaign details, they are led by Commander Iden Versio, of whom players will take control as the protagonist during Star Wars Battlefront 2's single-player mode, which was officially confirmed alongside the release of the game's first trailer at Star Wars Celebration 2017.

Of course, Star Wars Battlefront 2 is going to contain a lot more than just the story behind the Inferno Squad, as DICE and Electronic Arts have promised to include a plethora of materials that span the entire history of the film franchise's universe. With this being the case, not only will there be assets from the original trilogy and prequels, but also properties from the newer movies such as Star Wars: Episode 7 – The Force Awakens and Rogue One.

Taking all of this into consideration, it's highly likely that DICE and Electronic Arts' Inferno Squad figure won't be the last of its kind to be released as an additional purchasable promotional item for Star Wars Battlefront 2. As the days get closer to the game's release, fans should expect to see plenty more models and figurines inspired by the sequel to be unveiled, particularly one with the likeness of the solo campaign's protagonist Iden Versio, especially since the story mode in Battlefront 2 is being considered canon for the Star Wars universe.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is set to release on November 17, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
