From the moment that the protagonist of Star Wars Battlefront 2 was revealed, fans of the franchise have been eager to learn more about Iden Versio’s backstory. As it turns out, it won’t only be the single player campaign in which she stars, as this Imperial character will also be available in the multiplayer modes of the game.
Although many suspected that Iden Versio would appear in the multiplayer gameplay of Star Wars Battlefront 2 as well as the single player modes, confirmation was only recently received from publisher Electronic Arts, as it continues to unveil the different playable heroes (and villains) of multiplayer. It will certainly be interesting to be able to play as Versio alongside some well-established Star Wars characters.
The news was revealed by Electronic Arts over on Twitter, promising that Versio would “burn the Rebellion to the ground” alongide unveiling a quick video of the character in action. Those interested in checking out the clip can do so below.

So far, developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts have been putting a lot of focus on the game’s single player, which was sorely missed from the reboot of Star Wars Battlefront. Recently, Star Wars fans were treated to a story trailer that revealed Emperor Palpatine, and it will certainly be interesting to see what direction Versio takes over the course of the campaign.
When in comes to multiplayer, however, Iden Versio is certainly going to be in good company when it comes to Imperial-affiliated characters. As well as villains such as bounty hunter Boba Fett, Electronic Arts confirmed that Darth Vader is a playable character in Star Wars Battlefront 2, so those looking to push the power of the Dark Side in the game are bound to have plenty of options available to them.
Although there had been plenty of optimism coming up to the release of Star Wars Battlefront 2, it’s fair to say that there’s a little bit more caution from fans now, after the game’s beta brought up concerns that its loot box system could be considered pay-to-win. Although Star Wars Battlefront 2‘s developers have discussed these criticisms, many are still dubious about just how much the loot box system will affect gameplay for those happy to go without.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 releases November 17, 2017 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
