EA initially promoted Star Wars Battlefront 2's story with a heavy emphasis on following the Galactic Empire's perspective following the events of Return of the Jedi. Specifically, the point-of-view of Iden Versio, leader of the Empire's Inferno Squad, whose story concluded at the end of Star Wars Battlefront 2.

Recently, Star Wars Battlefront 2 writer Mitch Dyer replied to a tweet by Iden's actress Janina Gavankar who portrayed the character in the game. Gavankar was responding to a fan question about what Iden may have been up to during the events of the TV series The Mandalorian. Gavankar tagged in Dyer who posted a list of things about Iden that show she was pretty active during the time of the show.

Dyer listed facts about Iden's character that informed fans of her affiliations, occupation, and personal status and relationships at the time. Notably, her history as ex-Imperial special forces, that she's a former member of the Rebel Alliance and is currently a war hero. Iden Versio is also married to fellow defector Del Meeks, is about to be a mother, and is friends with fellow rebel Shriv. Dyer ended the list by saying that Iden is "Ready for more stories." Gavankar did assist with puppetry in The Mandalorian, but the character Iden didn't show up.

Players saw both Iden and Del's stories conclude in the latter half of Battlefront 2's campaign taking place right before The Force Awakens. Kylo Ren captured Del and searched his mind for the location of Luke Skywalker's map. Then he was killed by former Inferno Squad member Gideon Hask. Hask later hunted down Iden and killed her during their final confrontation in Battlefront 2's Resurrection DLC. Iden and Inferno Squad's story came to an end, but there's still the possibility of exploring new stories with Iden.

Dyer's tweet didn't provide fans with exact details, but it does show what Iden would've been up to during the events of The Mandalorian. Some fans speculated that this was teasing for the character's appearance in season 3 of the show while others simply want a chance to see Iden in another story. At the time of writing, no official announcements have been made about Iden showing up in the show or future Star Wars projects.

Of course, Iden could show up in a potential Star Wars project, or she might show up in a Star Wars comic book. New Star Wars characters made after Disney's purchase have shown up in comics in one form or another such as Poe Dameron's parents in the ongoing Star Wars comic, Rogue One's Director Krennic in a previous Darth Vader comic book annual, and several others. Either way, Iden Versio could show up again in future Star Wars stories, whether in The Mandalorian, a video game, in a novel, or a comic book.

EA's Star Wars Battlefront 2 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
