Star Wars Battlefront 2 Adding Han Solo Content

Star Wars Battlefront 2 may be best known for the controversy surrounding its microtransactions, but the game's planned content is still marching forward for the players who have stuck around. Fans of the game are about to be in for a new world of content inspired by Solo: A Star Wars Story when the new batch of Han Solo season content arrives June 12.

The game's Han Solo content is all about the galaxy's most famous smuggler and this upcoming batch of Star Wars Battlefront 2 content focuses on locations, vehicles, and costumes from the most recent Star Wars film.

Here's the hype trailer for the new content and a list of everything that players can expect come June 12...

"Push it! Delve into thrilling content inspired by Solo: A Star Wars Story™ in Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II, when the Han Solo Season continues starting June 12. Venture into the winding mines of Kessel as young Han Solo and the rest of the Millennium Falcon crew and much more."

New Location Kessel – The notorious coaxium mines of the planet Kessel will available in a variety of modes including Blast, Hero Showdown, Heroes vs. Villains or Extraction.

Extraction Mode – This popular mode first seen in Star Wars Battlefront Outer Rim will make its return. In extraction, an infiltration squad must retrieve and escape with a critical payload while fending off enemy forces. Players will join as either attackers or defenders in this asymmetrical and intense mode.

Lando’s Millennium Falcon – Take the Millennium Falcon for a spin prior to when Han Solo won it in a game of sabac.

New Appearances – Arrive to battle in style with new Appearances for Han Solo, Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca, all carefully modeled after their looks in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

It's pretty exciting that the iconic Kessel will be a playable location and fans of space fighting will also get a kick out of the retro Falcon, that has a few unique differences from the version everyone is used to. The tie-in to the film seems unlikely to bring back lapsed players, but time will tell.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is currently available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
