After its debut at E3 2017, Star Wars Battlefront 2 is vying to be the definitive experience that fans expected to see with its predecessor. EA is pulling out all the stops this time around, finally adding the highly requested single player story campaign centered around an Imperial spec ops unit known as Inferno Squad. Along with a story campaign, a deeper and more customizable multiplayer experience may make Star Wars Battlefront 2 EA's most ambitious title to date.

During a developer round table discussion on the official PlayStation YouTube channel, Star Wars Battlefront 2 producer, Matt Webster highlighted the expertise and work that the three development studios bring to the table on this ambitious sequel. Part of that ambitious comes from the collaboration between hundreds of people across three different studios along with the amount of things available to players from a dedicated single player story campaign to a deeper multiplayer experience that spans across all three major Star Wars eras.

Player feedback helped shape the course of development on this title, namely with keeping players hooked through long term goals. The star card and progression system has been completely overhauled, allowing players to evolve their abilities and find new ones at different rarities. Not only that, a Devs Claim Itsclass based system has been brought back and now lets players tailor their experience around a specific gameplay style such as the heavy class, which acts as a tank style character.

E3 gave fans a small look at the story and multiplayer experience and EA is planning to once again show off the title next week at Gamescom. This time around however, fans will get a chance to check out space battles through the Starfighter Assault mode. Players participating will be facing off in the original trilogy era, weaving around Star Destroyers and dog fighting across the Fondor: Imperial Shipyard map. With its predecessor's space battle mode left fans wanting, this new mode aims to improve the entire experience from the controls, to the different types of character classes, and new customization options.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 releases on November 17, 2017 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
