At the moment, plenty of Star Wars Battlefront 2 fans are enjoying the game's beta in order to get a better idea about the contents of the forthcoming title before it officially launches next month. Now, the developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts have decided to let all of the franchise's fans know before the testing period wraps up that Darth Vader will be a playable villain in the sequel.

As many Star Wars Battlefront 2 fans are well aware, Darth Vader is definitely no slouch when it comes to dishing out powerful doses of damage to his enemies, and even certain allies who end up getting in his way. For instance, Darth Vader periodically draws from his pure fury in the game in order to increase both his durability, as well as his damage output to become even stronger as a battle unfolds.

Not to mention, Darth Vader will also have the ability attack at longer ranges by throwing his lightsaber with the use of the Force, which sends the energy sword slashing through enemies to then effortlessly return to his hand. Of course, the Star Wars Battlefront 2 villain also wields his iconic Force choke, gripping opponents by the throat with a telekinetic attack that lifts them off the ground while simultaneously weakening them. The Sith Lord can use his mighty grip to hold his victims mid-air and then drop them wherever he wants.

In addition to the aforementioned skills of expertise, Star Wars Battlefront 2 fans can also customize Darth Vader’s abilities with Star Cards in order to better suit their favorite styles in which to play. And since the character is far from the only playable villain in the game, it stands to reason that the likes of Darth Maul and even the hero Rey will let players use the same feature for their abilities as well.

Taking all of this into consideration, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that Darth Vader will be a playable character in Star Wars Battlefront, especially since he was one of the Heroes and Villains from 2015's version of the game. But since the sequel intends on spanning all of the film series' different eras, fans will hopefully see some surprise additions when it comes to notable and obscure additions to the roster.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is set to launch on November 17, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
