A series of tweets from multiple Star Wars Battlefront 2 actors is leading many fans to believe a mysterious new project may be in the works. Although the posts come from November 2020, many Battlefront fans are just now piecing the evidence together.

Originally released in 2017, Star Wars Battlefront 2 was met with an extreme amount of controversy. Publisher EA's implementation of loot boxes led the gaming community at large to accuse the title of being "pay to win." When EA attempted defending its decision on the game's Reddit thread, it became the single most downvoted comment in the entire history of the website, cementing the game a spot as a video game with one of the most disastrous launches ever.

After being declared "complete" after over two dozen free content updates (which wrapped up in April 2020), Star Wars Battlefront 2 has made earnest efforts to regain the gaming community's favor. The game is now considered as one of the best post-Disney Star Wars titles, with many fans clamoring for a sequel or follow-up. This may soon come true, or at least something involving several key characters from the game will, according to a burgeoning new theory. Reddit user Potatoslayer2 pointed out that Iden Versio actress Janina Gavankar, Anthony Skordi (Admiral Garrick Versio) and T.J. Ramini (Del Meeko) were all in Los Angeles in November 2020. Ramini and Skordi confirmed a month later that they're working on something secretive together.

Janina Gavankar, who provided the voice and motion capture for the Inferno Squad leader Iden Versio, posted several images of motion-capture suits along with the caption of "this is one of the coolest weeks of my life," although she never mentions her Battlefront 2 co-stars. While there are some theories out there about adapting the Battlefront storyline into something live-action, Gavankar has actually (sort of) made her live-action Star Wars debut, having a strange role in The Mandalorian Chapter 11.

The tweets have of course led to widespread speculation that a Star Wars Battlefront 3 could be in the works. This becomes especially poignant given the fact that only two years passed between the rebooted video game series' first two entries, with many gamers considering it "overdue." However, Star Wars Squadrons surprise-dropped a slew of post-launch content despite its developer stating it had no plans to do so, leading some to think Inferno Squadron may show up in the combat flight sim. Basically, nobody knows what they're working on, but gamers are betting on something from a galaxy far, far away.

One big development causing the Star Wars fanbase to perk up its ears is the announcement that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order developer Respawn Entertainment is working on a game that allows players to keep "Adventuring Forever." While the upcoming title is reportedly a "new IP," gamers aren't ruling out the possibility of Star Wars, especially when considering the actor's secrecy. Hopefully the nearly inevitable leaks will shed some light on the situation sooner than later.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
