Life is Strange is a series that typically revolves around serious themes such as suicide, bullying, drugs, alcohol, racism, and many other topics. The episodic adventure series from developer Dontnod, Deck Nine, and Square Enix has stolen the hearts of many players, making the fanbase rather large. The first game in the series was released in 2015 to mostly positive reception and since then, there's been a spin-off series called Life is Strange: Before the Storm in 2017, and then a full-blown sequel, Life is Strange 2, in 2018 that featured a brand-new protagonist with a story that's loosely connected to the previous entries.

The last episode of Life is Strange 2, Wolvesreleased in late 2019, and since then, things have been pretty quiet on the future of the series. However, Square Enix announced earlier this week that the next entry in the Life is Strange series will be getting a reveal during a 40-minute digital event on March 18. The presentation will also focus on other Square Enix properties, such as OutridersMarvel's AvengersJust CauseTomb Raider, among other franchises. Not much is known about the game yet, but Square Enix did mention that the game will star a new protagonist with a brand-new superpower and a new story.

For fans that can't wait to see the reveal next week, Square Enix has further teased Life is Strange 3 today via a tweet on Twitter. The image comes from the official Life is Strange account and was later retweeted by the publisher. The tweet states "Glimpse your all-new protagonist," and shows a picture of the new main character with their back facing viewers and the light in the picture is very dim, so fans can't really get a good look at how the protagonist looks. All that's noticeable is that the character has short hair; they're wearing jeans it looks like, and they have on a light hoodie.

According to recent rumors, Life is Strange 3 will reportedly be titled "Life is Strange: True Colors" and will star an Asian-American character named Alex that has the power to read minds. This would fit the themes that the Life is Strange games have been tackling ever since the first title. In the sequel, the two main characters were Mexican-Americans with the younger brother having the ability to use a form of telekinesis and the first game starred a girl named Max with the power to fix mistakes by rewinding time at any time. It'll be interesting to see whether the rumor ends up being true or not. Fans will just have to wait until the digital showcase on March 18 to find out more details.

Life is Strange 3 is currently in development.
