Video game company Square Enix is unveiling its own brand-new digital showcase series. Dubbed Square Enix Presents, the event will be a series of shows in which the company plans to reveal new titles and provide inside looks and updates on announced ones.

Square Enix is highly acclaimed in the industry, home to popular franchises such as Final Fantasy, Hitman, NieR, and more. Its announcement of this presentation series makes it the latest brand to join a long line of digital showcases, with the gaming industry rapidly adopting the practice as a means to more directly connect with fans.

The first show of the series is set to debut on March 18, at 10 AM PDT. While there are several announcements and trailers slated for the inaugural program, the biggest standout will be the premiere of the next game in the Life is Strange series. Rumors of Life is Strange 3 have been circling lately, claiming that the game is titled Life is Strange: True Colors. The same purported info goes on to mention the new game will focus on an Asian-American woman named Alex who possesses the ability to read minds. Square Enix's press release, while vague, does mention that the new Life is Strange will focus on an "all-new protagonist wielding an exciting new power," so it stands to reason that the rumor may actually be true.

Square Enix has much more up its sleeve to fill up the 40-minute digital-direct event. In addition to the aforementioned title, fans can expect myriad announcements and trailers for Square's various properties, including OutridersBalan Wonderworld, Marvel's Avengers, and Just Cause Mobile. Additionally, Square Enix Montreal will be announcing several mobile games, the specifics of which remain unknown.

Square Enix Presents will also be celebrating the 25th anniversary of Tomb Raider, likely with the leaked Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy. The collection, previously leaked on the Microsoft Store, features all three of Crystal Dynamics' critically acclaimed Tomb Raider titles, including Tomb Raider: Definitive EditionRise of the Tomb Raider: 20th Anniversary Celebration, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition.

While what Square Enix has publicly announced is surely exciting, it's arguably the company's behind-the-scenes dealings that are even more intriguing. As well as filing a trademark for something called "Chocobo GP", Square Enix has patented an innovative shooting mechanic for a future title. While many fans are fairly certain "Chocobo GP" is a racing game featuring the unofficial Final Fantasy mascot, most are at a loss for what the shooting mechanic patent could be used for. However, this could change by the end of the presentation.

Although news of Square Enix Presents will surely get plenty of fans excited, it is not the only big upcoming digital event. More details have been revealed about Microsoft's Bethesda presentation, including what the acquisition means for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
