About a month ago, a report from Kotaku UK indicated that sources familiar with the project were more than sure that a remaster compendium known as Spyro the Dragon: Treasure Trilogy starring the beloved purple serpent is currently in the works for the PlayStation 4 and could come out this year. To add fuel to the rumor's flames, if information from an official Twitter account for the discount store retailer Target is accurate, then it looks like the package of remastered titles is indeed real and could come at some point toward the end of 2018.

As seen below, the AskTarget Twitter page has been quite active today, with gaming fans bombarding the account with questions regarding Spyro the Dragon: Treasure Trilogy and actually receiving answers, as the first tweet regards pre-orders for the compendium, with Target apparently being "all fired up" for its release. A second tweet then offers a potential release window, stating that Target anticipates "Spyro Treasure Trilogy will be coming in late 2018."

Naturally, this is far from an official confirmation of Spyro the Dragon: Treasure Trilogy coming out this year, as Activision has yet to even acknowledge such a product even being in the works. Nevertheless, it does beg the question whether or not Target has some insider knowledge regarding the potential remasters' eventual launch, as the retailer's responses to fans on Twitter have all but confirmed its existence.

Taking everything into consideration, there's no doubt that Spyro the Dragon fans would love to see the original trilogy get the remaster treatment, especially when one considers the critical and financial success of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. After all, with remasters, revivals, and remakes being all the rage these days, Activision would surely stand to make a huge profit if it decides to actually launch Spyro the Dragon: Treasure Trilogy this year.

Spyro the Dragon: Treasure Trilogy has yet to be officially announced.
