Spyro, the PS1 fan favorite character, made a comeback in 2018 when the original games were remastered for the Spyro Reignited Trilogy. Developer Toys For Bob went all out to make sure that the remake of the classic games was up to standard with new consoles, featuring bright new graphics, music, and cutscenes. To showcase its hard work, the studio has now released an official art book for the new Spyro trilogy.

Toys For Bob previously handled the Skylanders games which re-introduced Spyro to a new generation of younger players. With the success of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, the studio is now handling Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, the long awaited sequel to another PS1 classic.

'The Art of Spyro: Reignited Trilogy' is now available for purchase and features 240 pages of full color images that will take fans of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy behind the scenes of how the remastered game came to life. The art design in the new trilogy was already stunning, faithfully recreating the original Spyro levels for a new generation. The remaster also added some new upgrades to the old Spyro games, such as making each rescued dragon from the first game a unique character with dialogue, of which many of the designs can be seen in the book.

The Art of Spyro adds itself to a long list of concept design books for games including Mass Effect, The Last of Us, and Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Original and intricate game worlds are becoming essential to games in order to stand out, particularly as the next generation of consoles will push graphics to the limit once again. But with plenty of incredibly talented designers and artists working at games studios, art books are a neat way for players to view the behind-the-scenes work that never made it into the game.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
