Spy X Family is a hit anime series that has taken 2022 by storm. It has also garnered a massive following, as its original manga has over 26 million copies in circulation. Furthermore, the show is being co-produced by two studios, WIT and Cloverworks, famous for their work on anime like Attack on Titan and The Promised Neverland, respectively.
The story revolves around a makeshift family put together to aid the skilled spy, Twilight, in carrying out a very important mission. He, along with Anya, Yor, and Bond, make up the Forger family, with each member possessing their own unique traits. For example, Yor is an assassin, Anya is a telepath, and Bond has the ability to see into the future. What started as a superficial arrangement eventually develops into something more genuine and meaningful as they gradually grow attached to one another, much like a real family would.

9 Anya Forger
Anya is the lovable pink-haired child of the Forger family. She is one of the show's most adored characters and takes center stage in many of its events. Despite being a telepath, she is not the smartest tool in the shed, though this may partly be due to her young age. She hides her powers of telepathy for her own safety but loves her family very much regardless.
She was adopted from an orphanage in Ostania, and most of her past is largely unknown. Her powers, however, are known to have originated from an experiment by a certain organization. She later escaped and transferred through multiple orphanages before finally being stumbled upon by Loid.
8 Loid Forger
As a spy, much of Loid’s personal information is unknown, including his age, but he is assumed to be in his late twenties. He is extremely skilled at his job and is known as WISE’s best agent. He is generally calm and composed, but he shows a different side of his personality from time to time, especially in the presence of the rest of the family.
He has been a spy for at least ten years, and prior to that, he served in the Westalian military. He was separated from his father after an Ostanian raid on his home and spent a large part of his childhood as an orphan. Despite all these unfortunate circumstances, he grew up to be a kind-hearted individual, and his main aim is to create a world where children don’t have to cry.
7 Yor Forger
Yor is the faux wife of Loid and the adoptive mother of Anya Forger. She is a deadly assassin, but in contrast to her profession, she is very kind and easy to fool. However, one aspect of her personality that can be attributed to the nature of her profession is her murderous way of thinking. She is fond of attempting to resolve issues through killing and is willing to go to great lengths to protect her make-believe family.
She is extremely good at cleaning and is responsible for keeping the Forger household spotless. Like Anya, Yor also hails from Ostania. She also spent a large part of her life taking care of her brother in the absence of their parents, becoming an assassin to make ends meet.
6 Franky Franklin
Franky is a reliable informant who aids Loid on different missions. He has a rather peculiar face, and his personality is interesting as well. He is often focused on the more superficial things in life, such as money and women, but he genuinely looks out for Loid, hinting that he also has a caring side to him.
Franky made his first appearance soon after Loid settled down with Anya, providing the latter with entrance examination test questions that would make it easier for Anya to pass. On another occasion, he helped Anya experience what it was like to be a princess by coaxing Loid into renting a castle and acting out scenes similar to ones from her favorite anime.
5 Sylvia Sherwood
Sylvia, often referred to by Loid as Handler, is a contact responsible for managing many of WISE’s agents and missions. She takes her job very seriously, and if she believes something is necessary for a mission, she will go to extraordinary lengths to obtain it. Only the work side of her personality was shown early on, but as the story progressed, she began to show other aspects of her character.
During the Doggy Crisis arc, it is revealed that she had a terrible experience with war and did her best to enlighten young terrorists about the consequences of it. Later during that same arc, she shows kindness in allowing Anya to keep Bond and reveals that she also used to have a child who was about Anya's age.
4 Henry Henderson
Henry Henderson is an Eden Academy housemaster with an unnatural penchant for elegance. This is seen mostly during the Admissions Interview arc, where he took special notice of the Forger family due to their impressive showing. During the direct interview stage, he also showed a strong moral compass as he punched Murdoch for toying with Anya’s emotions, regardless of the consequences.
Later in the series, he takes the role of Anya’s teacher and is often seen in her elementary school class. He seemingly played a great role in Anya getting accepted into the academy and was pleased to inform the Forger family that she was at the top of the waiting list.
3 Damian Desmond
Damian is an arrogant elementary schooler in the same group as Anya at Eden Academy. He is the son of Donovan Desmond, Loid’s target, and as a result, one of the first students Loid took an interest in. Anya was required to befriend him for the sake of Operation “Strix,” but the road so far has been a rather bumpy one.
He could originally be likened to a bully as he mocked Anya’s status and constantly called her names. However, after she apologized for hitting him, he began developing feelings for her, with his face turning bright red during most interactions. He also aims to be an Imperial Scholar, just like his brother, for the sake of his father's approval.
2 Becky Blackbell
Becky was Anya's first real friend at Eden Academy, and the two are often seen together both in and out of class. She was also noticed by Loid early on, though it was due to her father's position as the CEO of a major military contractor. She is very protective of Anya and usually encourages her to stand up to Damian.
When she was introduced, she also didn't think much of Anya but was interested in taking care of her and not bullying her. Despite their short time together, the two have developed a significant relationship, and Becky can be considered Anya's best friend.
1 Yuri Briar
Yuri is the brother of Yor and a worker for the State Security Service in Ostania. Since his parents died while he was still young, he was mostly raised by Yor and constantly sought her praise as a child. As a result, he developed a sister complex that followed him into adulthood, and he is not afraid to express his adoration for her in public.
While performing his job, Yuri has been shown to be ruthless, as he values his country very highly and will not tolerate people who attempt to betray it. He adopts the same mentality regarding Yor, as he was initially skeptical about her marriage to Loid and was determined to protest against it if he found Loid unworthy of her. Though he may seem unpleasant to some, he cares for his sister dearly and claims he will do anything to protect her.
