The world of Bikini Bottom has delicacies as diverse as the ocean life that inhabits it. Some foods are synonymous with the series, having become part of the SpongeBob cultural lexicon. Fans have attempted to recreate some of these food products at home with varying results. Here are only some of the dishes that SpongeBob SquarePants has to offer.

6 Those Kelp Shakes Would Be To Die For, Literally

This beverage is on the list for a couple of reasons. For one, it does look appetizing, even though the initial flavor is supposed to be like a gym sock. A cold, frosty beverage would be good, especially in the heat that much of the world is facing.

Second, this beverage drove former friends and business rivals, Mr. Krabs and Plankton, to team up in the episode “Best Frenemies.” They both see the Kelp Shake restaurants as a threat to their businesses. The shake does have the unfortunate side effect of causing everyone who drinks it to sprout kelp all over their bodies. This is thanks to the 1% radioactive waste that goes with the 99% kelp juice.

5 It Took Them 3 Days To Make The Potato Salad

In the episode “No Weenies Allowed,” SpongeBob and Sandy get into another karate match, or kara-tay, as SpongeBob has called it. In the battle, SpongeBob accidentally lands with both feet inside bowls of potato salad from a family picnic. The man of the family exclaims, “Way to go, buddy! It took us three days to make that potato salad. THREE DAYS!”

How does it take three days to make a potato salad? Maybe it took three days to acquire the finest ingredients. Another theory, proposed by the YouTube channel Babish Culinary Universe, is that the potatoes were pickled for three days before being used to make the potato salad. A more important question, though, is how the potato salad stays together underwater.

4 Grandma Makes The Best Cookies

Nothing is quite like those treats from grandma. She is the loving relative who spoils the grandkids rotten when they are young. SpongeBob is still spoiled by his grandmother, as seen in the episode “Grandma’s Kisses.”

Before work, SpongeBob goes to visit his grandma’s house, where she has a plate of fresh cookies waiting for him. The expression on SpongeBob’s face is one of pure bliss. He also licks the spoon with the leftover cookie dough. These cookies do not look delicious just because of the contents, but because they were made with Granny’s love.

3 CHOCOLAAAAAATE!!!!!!

Expect any SpongeBob fan to start screaming this food’s name at the top of their lungs. In “Chocolate with Nuts,” SpongeBob and Patrick go door to door selling chocolate in order to earn enough money to pursue a fancy living. Their first customer goes into a rage and starts chasing them around town, all while screaming “CHOCOLATE!”

The chocolate SpongeBob and Patrick sell are standard candy bars, sold with and without nuts. SpongeBob and Patrick also claim that the confections possess rejuvenating properties, such as making someone live forever when applied to the skin.

2 The Jelly Patty Leads To Animal Exploitation

The Krabby Patty, that delicious beefy goodness topped "with lettuce, cheese, onions, tomatoes, ketchup, mustard, pickles, and a top bun in that order", is the pride and joy of the Krusty Krab restaurant and its owner, Mr. Krabs. In “Jellyfish Hunter,” SpongeBob puts a new twist on the Krabby Patty by adding some jellyfish jelly to the recipe.

Mr. Krabs calls this mutiny initially until he realizes that customers will pay money for it. This leads him to drive SpongeBob to round up the entire jellyfish population at Jellyfish Fields so that he can enslave them in his factory. The idea of the sweetness of the jelly mingling with the fat and juices of the patty is intriguing, although it does kind of look like the Sinner’s Sandwich from Deadly Premonition.

The Triple Gooberberry Sunrise is a sundae served at the most happening place around, The Goofy Goober. In The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, SpongeBob drowns his sorrows in a number of these with his best friend, Patrick, after not getting the manager position at the Krusty Krab 2.

This sundae is a delight for any self-proclaimed Goofy Goober. It has two bananas for the limbs and one on top of the head, which is smothered in chocolate. It also has candies that form a smiley face. The base appears to be vanilla ice cream, likely with liquor mixed in since SpongeBob and Patrick become impaired by the time he has to get back to work.
