Black Rock Studio's action packed racing game Split/Second will launch a demo for the PlayStation 3 today. The arcade style racer features a variety of destructible environment, along with scripted events that will blow your mind. Just check out their last Power Plant trailer to see just how crazy and exciting this game is.

Players will get access to the game's Airport track, and here's a small description of what you may encounter on it:

"The airport track features some incredible moments that YOU can trigger — including a navigational radar dish that explodes off its base and a tram that slams into a parking structure creating some real shock waves on the track. There are also some other really huge Power Plays you can activate like taking down the airport control tower to clear a path onto the runway which provides access to a huge remote-controlled jumbo jet you can use to take out your competitors."

The game looks like a ton of fun, and I'm looking forward to trying the game out before it's fully released next week. It has some tough competition from Blur coming soon, but hopefully both games garner some critical acclaim.

What do you think of Split/Second, Ranters? Excited for some new action packed, explosion-rich, racer fun? Going to pick up the demo today?

Split/Second will race into your homes starting May 18th in North America and May 23 in Europe, for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
